Hospital Monday
Auburndale, Wis.?Thomas Dil-
linger sr., 73, who spent most of
his life at Auburndale since coming
to America from Austria at the
age of eight, died Monday at a
Madison hospital where he was a
patient since November 1943.
Funeral services were held Thurs-
day morning at St. Mary's Catho-
lic church, the Rev. Joseph Stein-
hauser officiating at Requiem High
Mass. Interment took place in the
parish cemetery.
Mr. Dillinger was born in Austria
on January 23, 1871, and was
married at Auburndale on October
11, 1896, to Francisca Leable, who
preceded him in death in 1930. He
retired from farming after the
death of his wife, and for a few
years before going to Madison he
lived with various children.
Surviving are 12 children, Tho-
mas Dillinger, Wisconsin Rapids;
Charles Dillinger, Park Falls; Jo-
seph Dillinger, Milwaukee; Mrs.
Ed Grossbier, Auburndale; Mrs.
Anton Hilgart, Auburndale; George
Dillinger of Marshfield; Mrs. Hen-
ry Grossbier, Wisconsin Rapids;
John Dillinger, Madison; Mrs.
Frank Ertl, Milwaukee; Pfc. Louis
and Staff Sgt. Peter Dillinger, both
somewhere in New Guinea; and
Pvt. Tony Dillinger, somewhere in
England.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs.
Clara Drollinger of Milwaukee, and
18 grandchildren.
