- BURLINGTON - Ms. Elsie Mae Miles, 77, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Alamance Healthcare Center where she was a resident. She was formerly of 1605 Apartment H, Morningside Drive.
A native of Alamance County, Elsie was born on September 4, 1933 as the daughter of the late Laddie Miles Sr. and Genevieve Trollinger Miles. She was a member of Union Chapel United Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Laddie Jr., George W., and Jeffrey L. Miles.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Nellie) Miles of Greensboro, N.C.; three daughters Virginia M. Walker, Vanessa D. and Geneva Delores Miles all of Burlington, N.C.; sisters: Beulah Farris and Debra M. Satterfield (Forrest) all of Burlington, N.C.; brothers Adolphus Ophield (Evelyn) Miles and Perry Miles (Patsy) all of Burlington, N.C.; three grandchildren and three stepchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Union Chapel United Church of Christ with the visitation from 1 until 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of her brother Perry, located at 2508 Hickory Ave., Burlington.
There will be a public viewing on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sharpe Funeral Home. Support and services are provided by and entrusted to Sharpe Funeral Home Inc.
