- Evelyn M. Pruessner, 102, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully, July 21, 2024, with her family at her side.
Evelyn was born on March 8, 1922, in rural Benton County between Racket and Warsaw, to Gladis Cecil (Trolinger) Summers and Jesse Summers. In this area is where she grew up and went to Shady Grove School. Which was a country school with no buses. So, she had to come to Clinton and stay to continue with her education.
After school at 16 years old she married Norman "Wayne" Pruessner (1938), whom she had met through a cousin of hers. Wayne and Evelyn had been married for 58 years when he passed away in 1996. Evelyn said that the hardest part of her life was losing Wayne. After getting married they worked on a 400-acre farm (Wayne's dad's farm). They then moved to Kansas City, and she worked at Hallmark where she made lights for buildings national belles. She also worked for a Dime Store.
Evelyn loved being outdoors, and gardening tomatoes to be canned. She loved making chocolate pies and chocolate chip cookies. Which the grandchildren loved. Evelyn loved her family!
Evelyn is survived by her granddaughter, Stacy Eacret, grandson Robert Williams; great grandchildren, Travis Eacret, Bridget (Bret) Moehlman, Tiffany (Chevis) Eacret, Austin Eacret, Courtney Falls, and Jesse Williams; great greatgrandchildren, Ethan Eacret, Jase Eacret, Brooklynn Falls, Estella Falls, Brynlee Moehlman and Brody Moehlman.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; children Norma Jean, Gary and Gerald; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral Service Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd Street, Clinton, Missouri.
Following the service we will form the procession, then head to Parks Chapel Cemetery in Leesville Township, 1021 SE 450 Road, Henry County, Missouri. For the Interment of Evelyn Pruessner, in her final resting place. It is approximately 14 miles East of Clinton, Missouri, on 7 Highway, then make an immediate left (South) on SE 1051, go South to SE 450, turn right. Cemetery at top of hill, behind the Parks Chapel Church.
