- Blanche L Bueler passed away Saturday September 30, 2023, at the age of 88 in St. Louis, Mo. She was the beloved mother of Fred Jr. (Ann), Kevin, Susan (Bryan Anderhub), and Donna (Michael Garlich); cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Fred her and treasured grandson Patrick.
Blanche was born on March 17, 1935, in Belleview, Missouri. She spent her childhood growing up on the family farm where she nurtured her appreciation for the outdoors, vegetable gardens, flowers, and birds. After graduating from high school, Blanche met and married Fred L. Bueler, the love of her life. They settled in Kirkwood, loved the community, and made it home for the remainder of their lives. They welcomed their four children into the world over the next four years. In the early years that followed, Fred and Blanche put in motion their many respective talents to raise their family. While he focused on work, coaching & attending the kids sporting games and his woodworking hobby, Blanche leveraged her skills as a masterful cook, artful seamstress and knowledgeable gardener. They enjoyed camping adventures with the kids and frequent visits to the farm where she was raised, always reveling in the beauty and freedom of the open nature she adored. After the kids were in school, Blanche began a working career that would span 40 +/-years at Country Squire Cleaners. She so enjoyed the close friendships with co-workers and customers that were fostered from her time there.
In addition to raising her children, running a busy household, and working, Blanche made time for numerous outside activities that grew into passions. She was a successful team member of her bowling league, and a competitive player in her esteemed bridge club. These activities were the foundation for the many dear and decades-long friendships she cherished throughout her life. And then in her fifties, Blanche took up the game of golf. She loved golf, both for the game itself and as the pastime she could share with Fred, And she was good at it! Their many years playing couples-golf led to new and dear friendships, glorious days in the sunshine, and her most famous hole-in-one which brought her life-long delight!
In retirement, Blanche moved from the home she shared with Fred on Big Bend to the Washington Place Condominiums. It was a glorious time and a new chapter. There she met a group of new friends who would come to be known as the Gazebo Gang. They enjoyed pot-luck gatherings, walks around Kirkwood, attending church together, numerous outings, birthday celebrations, and taking care of each other as they all aged. It was a special time for making new best friends. While she did not travel often, she made several trips to Lake of the Ozarks, Florida and Arizona which resulted in memories she cherished and experiences she adored. These times filled her with boundless energy and enjoyment. But most of all, Blanche knew her ultimate happiness and joy when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she treasured beyond measure.
From farm girl to the big city, cherished wife and mother, working woman, fun-loving friend and beloved grandmother and great grandmother, Blanche lived a beautiful life of unconditional devotion and love for everyone who was blessed to know her.
