[1] Gender Male Death 4 Mar 1927 Humeston, Wayne, IA - Joseph Warren Trullinger, son of Gabriel and Elizabeth Trullinger was born in Davis County, Iowa 21 November 1853 and died at his home in Humeston Iowa 4 March 1927 at the age of 73 years. Mr. Trullinger was the youngest of a family of eight children, and he lived to a greater age than any of the others, all of whom have preceded him in death. He came with his parents to Decatur County Iowa in 1856 where he lived until moving to Humeston in 1918, where his home has been until his death. He was united in marriage to Jennie Ridgeway, 16 April 1878, and to this union were born two sons and one daughter, Freeman Louis of Humeston, Iowa, Nora Alice Scott of Leon and Roy Milton of Des Moines, Iowa. Louis has been with his parents for several years past and assisted in their care. Mr. Trullinger has been a member of the Masonic Order for over half a century, first a member of Temple Lodge No. 170 A.F. & A. M. of Decatur County and later a member of Fidelity Lodge No. 228 A.F. & A.M. of Humeston. He was converted at a revival meeting in the Trullinger school house in Decatur County many years ago and united with the Methodist Church and has lived a faithful and consistant Christian life. He lived a life of industry and integrity, well respected by all who knew him. He was always ready to help neighbors and friends or anyone in need in cases of illness and by his kindness of heart and uprightness of life won hosts of friends wherever he lived. He leaves to mourn his loss the daughter and two sons, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides many other relatives and friends. A good man departed, a good citizen a faithful Christian, and his influence for good will live forever. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the M.E. Church, Rev A.E. George of Mitchellville, Iowa, former pastor here used the same text for the funeral sermon as he had used for the funeral of Mrs Trullinger nearly three years ago. Internment was in Garden Grove Cememtery with Masonic ceremony.
