- Bonita Maxine "Bonnie" Byro
Bonita "Bonnie" Maxine Trullinger was born on February 3, 1935 to Roy and Ragna
(Jorgenson) Trullinger in Lake City, IA. She graduated from Madelia High School in
1953 and attended school in Mankato. Bonnie was united in marriage to Irvin "Luben"
Byro on June 25, 1955. The couple had 5 sons: David, Michael, Richard, Douglas and
Thomas. Throughout her life, Bonnie worked in various places, including her own
Cotttonwood Crafts in Searles where she enjoyed working on many craft projects. She
and Luben farmed until 1990 but Bonnie spent most of her life caring for their 5 sons
and her beloved grandchildren. Bonnie loved flowers, she was a member of the Madelia
Garden Club, she played cards with the ladies in her Card Club and was a member of
the Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia.
Bonnie Maxine Byro, age 82, of Madelia, MN died on November 15, 2017, at the Luther Memorial Home in
Madelia.
Bonnie is survived by her children, David Byro of Heidelberg, Michael Byro of Hanska, Richard (Elke) Byro of
Madelia, Douglas (Kari) Byro of Madelia and Thomas (Ellen) Byro of Hanska; 11 grandchildren; 9 stepgrandchildren;
3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Shirley) Trullinger, Jerry (Linda) Trullinger, Steve
(Mina)Trullinger; sisters, Mavis (Vic) Gelner, Darla Dahlager, Charlotte (John) Malo; sisters-in-law, Esther
Trullinger, Della Byro; brother-in-law, Robert Byro and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her
special "adopted" children, Betty Spidahl, Janet Todd and Lee Hammond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin Byro in 2012; brother, Ronald Trullinger; brothers-inlaw,
Leroy Byro, Edwin Byro, Don Dahlager and sisters-in-law, Carol Byro and Helen Byro.
