Death: Nov. 23, 2013

Donald Lee "Donnie" Kirby, 76, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in his residence following a brave and courageous knowledge of cancer. Donnie was born on Oct. 23, 1937 along with his twin brother, Ronnie in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Fred and Mable (Drollinger) Kirby. He married Frederica "Freddy" Sorg on Oct. 26, 1957.
He graduated from Mississinewa High School, Gas City, IN in 1955. He worked as a Moldmaker at Glass Containers (Knox Glass) in Gas City, IN for twenty nine years and as a Tool and Dye Maker at Chrysler Dye Castin Kokomo IN for fifteen years. Other than being with family and friends, and neighbors, his favorite place to be was on a golf course with his golf buddies. At this point, something must be added. You never had to wonder what his opinion was on any given subject because he would tell you regardless that you would agree with him or not.
He is leaving memories with his wife, Freddy; three sons, Richard Kirby, Marion, Douglas (Amber) Kirby, Sweetser, Craig (Andrea) Kirby, Jonesboro; one daughter, Holly (David) Fisher, Tampa, FL.; his "adopted" children, and grand child, Tab and Teresa McKenzie and their son, John; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Kirby, Amber, Brittany, Amanda, Samantha, Xaine, Dustin, and Desiree; eight great grandchildren, Sloane, Caleb, Chloe, Zoe, Alyssa, Gracie, Emalee, and Jaydon; five sisters, Wilma (Frank) Corn, Pauline (Orville) Kirby, Evelyn (Ralph) Scott, Eldora (Joe) Gould, and Janet (Gene) Barton; many very special nieces, and nephews, and his loyal doggie, Buddy, Bear Dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mable Kirby; his twin brother, Ronald Dee Kirby; and his daughter, Chrystine Elaine (Kirby) Livingston.
Donald Lee Kirby donated his body to the Anatomical Education Program of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A "Celebration of Life" for him was hosted by his family on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Gas City, IN.
A good man left us at four o'clock in the morning on Saturday, Nov.23, 2013.
