    • Marvin, 87, passed away November 21, 2012 anxiously awaiting the BYU basketball game. He was born in Tremonton, Utah of goodly parents, George and Abba Miller. He was the last of his generation in both his and his wife's families.

After graduating from Bear River High School, Marvin enlisted in the US Army Air Corps. On his 20th mission, his B-24 was shot down and he was held as a POW for 9 months until the war's end.

He was called to serve an LDS mission in the Northern States Mission under Pres. Creed Haymond, who had a profound influence on his life. It was there in Marion, Ohio he met his future eternal companion. After their missions, Marvin and Luella were married in the Logan temple beginning 57 years of marriage and a family of 10 children.

Marvin graduated from BYU with a degree in physical education. He went on to work as an air traffic controller for the FAA. He worked many years and retired as a circulation manager for the Newspaper Agency Corporation. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting with his family.

Marvin had a passion for sports. He loved to coach and always had winning teams. His sons and hundreds of other boys loved him as their coach in sports and in life. He helped organize and initiate the first Youth Football League in Davis County. He was an avid fan of all BYU sports.

He loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. He was an active member of the LDS church and served 19 years as a temple worker. He and his wife served a second mission in Texas. His children and grandchildren served missions in many parts of the world. His love of missionary work led him to establish a missionary fund. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to MJM Perpetual Trust at America First Credit Union.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Village for the years of loving kindness toward our parents. Marvin is survived by all 10 children, with a posterity of 64 grandchildren and 103 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Sat. December 1 at the LDS chapel at 1250 South Main, Bountiful. Viewing will be from 9-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Park on Monday, Dec. 3 at 12 noon.
