    • Our beloved mother, and proud grandmother, Ardath Drollinger Strong, age 92, passed away peacefully, July 20, 2010 in Salt Lake City. Born June 3, 1918 in Roosevelt, Utah to Allan E. and Nancy E. Stone Drollinger. Ardy was the fifth child of 13, and the only one to be born in a hospital. Married Don Spencer Strong, June 30, 1945. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, March 1951. Preceded in death by her husband in 1986. She was a faithful and active member of the LDS church who very much enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly in the neighborhood. Her family was always her priority. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, and was a second mother to Jaime and Jake and would have loved to spend more time with Brad and Matt.
She is survived by her children, Randall Strong (Denver), Gary Strong (Memphis), and Carol (Jim) Gee (Salt Lake City); four grandchildren, Jamie (Dustin) Rast (Salt Lake City), Jake Gee (Cincinnati), Bradley and Matthew Strong (Memphis); two sisters, Velma Dart and Pearl (Ken) Workman; two brothers, Dee (Gwen) and Don Drollinger.
Ardy was a kind, compassionate and loving woman who cared very much for the welfare of others. She dedicated her life to giving service.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow.
Ardy is loved and will be missed.
As a family we extend our gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional care given to our mom from Millcreek Assisted Living and Hospice For Utah. (Deseret News, Salt Lake City, Jul 21, 2010)
