    • Viola Rose Draper, 88, of Danville, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at her home. She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Mason, Ill., the daughter of Richard and Anna Mae (Holstlaw) Chow. Both are deceased.

      She had wed Thomas Bailey in 1948, and later was married to Russell Draper on April 19, 1980. Russell passed away Sept. 9, 2003.

      She will be missed by her brother, John "Frank" (Norma Jean) Chow of Georgetown; her sisters, Verniece (Vic) Kent of Marion, Ind., and Mary (Clarence) Elliott of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Lorene Hartman and Helena Bell Deck; and her two brothers, Ronald Lee Chow and Richard N. Chow.

      Viola had attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown and was currently a member of the Eugene United Methodist Church. She was employed with Chuckles Candy Company and retired after 27 years of service.

      Viola and her late husband, Russell, enjoyed riding around on their motorcycle in the Honda Gold Wing Association Club. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, going to activities at the CRIS Senior Center and loved spending time with her family and friends.
