- Edna Betty Mulkey, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Mrs. Mulkey was born on December 31, 1934, also the same birthday as her mother, in McNary, AZ, daughter of the late Manuel O. Ruiz and Sara Lopez Ruiz. Mrs. Mulkey met and married her husband Willis A. Mulkey in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while he was serving in the United States Army. They had five children and lots of grandchildren, great-grandchildren amd great-great grandchildren. They were ministers to many churches in the state of Georgia until he passed in 1987. She continued to serve in many capacities, mainly with Toys For Tots, Salvation Army and she was a volunteer Spanish interpreter. In her spare time she enjoyed garage sales, flea markets and bargain hunting. She is well known for her cooking, especially tacos. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis A. Mulkey; sisters, Erlinda Nieto and Esther Fox; brother, Manuel "Nunie" Ruiz; granddaughter, Ashley Sanders; her special fur baby, Misty.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 20th of April, 2021 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Palmer and Rev. Dannie Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
