Some time over the last year he told me about the Titus Family Bible and I have requested the data from him.Below is the email and contents of the bible he sent to me on the 8th of this month. He stated that he was afraid to copy the pages because of the over all poor condition of the bible. After reading all the data, I think this is a Titus Family Bible but contains data on Drollingers. The pages are tightly bound. In the middle there are 3 pages (VERY YELLOWED AND DIFFICULT TO READ)and I would not want the responsibility of trusting ANYONE to FORCE open the pages to try and copy what is written on the pages, some of which is barely legible, and probably not copy in view of the condition of the pages. | 56061 | When I had my father over to Germany for a visit in 1984 I took him to the town of Lollar in Hessen near Giessen. He knew of the death of Katherina because his fellow coworker, Orville "Burkie" Burke, at Greyhound was involved in a settlement case involving his wife. German inheritance is not the same as the USA. Ever since the Code of Napolean which was if a person had issue all would share equally. She was an Ullmann descendant and related to Peter Ullmann my great grandfather. Peter had made several trips back to Germany and purchased a house for his mother. When Katherina died her estate settlement brought about the court case. My father knew she was buried there in the cemetery. We looked but did not find a stone. There was an older man there working with a pair of hedge trimmers cutting some bushes. I asked him in my poor German if he knew of an Ullmann grave stone. He said yes and walked over to a stone covered in ivy. He chopped away the ivy and there was her stone. Then he mention Ullmann was a Bomisch or Bohemian name. He said he was also of Bohemian descent. then he proceeded to tell me of how his youngest brother was drafted into the German Army. He did not want to be a soldier so he ran away. "Susie" Branan (1857-9 Oct 1928 Atlanta, GA) the daughter of Duke Hamilton Branan and Mary Allen Branan. They are two different people! Mary was the mother of 6 children, all living per the 1900 Census. Mary was the mother of 8 children, 6 living per the 1910 Census. The following is my case for why Alfred Hosea Trollinger is most likely not the son of Mary Brannon but rather the son of Alice Payne: Albert Bomar Trollinger married Alice Payne 14 Apr 1872. Albert's son, Alfred Hosea Trollinger was born 10 Mar 1873 about thirteen months later which would most likely make Alice the mother of Alfred. Albert's subsequent wife's (Mary Brannon) death notice states that Alfred Hosea was one of her "five sons". This may or may not be true that Mary was actually the mother of Alfred. One of the most compelling pieces of evidence that Alfred Hosea is not the son of Mary Brannon is the 1900 Census where Mary states she is the mother of six children with all six still living (those six children would have to be Albert, Benjamin Bomar, Rachel, Thomas Benjamin, Samuel Jim and Mary Hulda). If Alfred really was her son, Mary would have stated that she was the mother of seven children, not six. Mary also states in the 1900 Census that she and Albert have been married for twenty years which would place their marriage year at about 1880. Because Alfred's birth year is 1873 he was born about seven years before Mary and Albert were married. Hopefully, positive proof will soon surface that settles this issue for good. AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JACOB, SON OF JOHN BONEBRAKE (written 1884) (Obtained from Our Bonebrake Heritage by Marie Rizek Bonebrake) I was born in Preble County, May 22, 1812. When I arrived at the age of eight years, my Father sent me to a German school that grandfather Dewalt Bonebrake was teacher. I could read and spell German tolerable well, and I have not forgotten the German yet. When I moved with father to Fountain County, Indiana in 1821, the advantage of school in those thinly settled neighborhood were very poor at that time, but in all I got about 12 months schooling in the English Language. I married a loving and amiable girl on the 14th day of November 1833, by the name of Lavina Drollinger, who proved a great comfort and a blessing to me through all her life. In 1840 we started, with fathers family, for Iowa, our little family of three children. 1841 arrived in Davis County. 1844 moved to Monroe County and about 1844 moved to Marion County, Iowa. In spring of 1862, we, with our seven children (three died when small) two of whom were married, started with a train of about 35 families to cross the plains for Oregon, including two brothers and two sisters and their families with nearly all ox teams. About the middle of June we entered the Indian Country and saw a great many Indians, but they never molested the emigrants til we arrived on Snake river west of the Rocky Mountains. By that time our wagons numbered 110. From this time on we traveled about 500 miles with great anxiety and fear, frequently we would pass graves where emigrants had been murdered by Indians. We buried five men, side by side, that were murdered by Indians. By this time our train numbered 211 wagons, but by close guarding and watching our relatives all landed in Oregon the first of October 1862, considerably reduced, but we felt very thankful that we had once more reached civilization. I stopped in Jackson County one year, then to Douglas County, rented three years, in 1866 we moved to Coos Bay where I located, had a pleasant home. But the 11th of October 1879, I was bereaved of my dear companion. All of my children are living on the coast, and are as follows: Syntha Ann married G.F. Bonebrake, son of Henry Bonebrake, of considerable means. Josiah Valentine Bonebrake, resident of Coos Bay, farmer, well situated. Rhoda Elizabeth married B.F.Ross, a farmer in good circumstances. Louisa Katharine married F.E. Winchester, artist of Walla, Walla, Wash. John William - a jewelor, Lakeview, Lake County, Oregon. Margaret Josaphine married J.W. Riggs, artist, Lewistown, Idaho.
