He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Emerson, the youngest of five children, to Albert Elmer Corless and Ella May Randall Corless. He was raised on a farm and taught how to work hard and be of service to others by his parents. He graduated from Heyburn High School in 1943. He served in the Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He worked for the J.R. Simplot company for almost 40 years, from 1946 to 1986 when he retired. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout his life, including bishopric counselor, high councilman and branch president. He was married to Bette Steele Corless for 39 years when she passed away in 2004. They had served a church mission together in Richmond, Va. They liked to travel and spend time in Sun Valley at their cabin that Ross had built. Ross loved his family, singing, Scouting, being in the outdoors and serving others.
