Notes - "The first Whartons to come to America did so before the American Revolution and settled in Sussex County Delaware. Benjamin Wharton and some of his brothers (Zadok was one) came to Union Township (West Chester Township) when Benjamin was 18. In 1821 he married Sarah Drullinger, whose father, Philip, was a very early Union Township settler near Port Union....
...Benjamin and Sarah Wharton has six sons and four daughters, three of whom died quite young. Those who reached maturity were Mary Jane, Jihn, Walter W., Milton, Zadok, William P, and Parker...Walter, Mary Jane, and John never married. John died in 1870...Zadok and Milton moved to near Miamisburg and Parker went to Indiana. William received part of the farm and stayed.
William married Sarah and had three daughters - Elsie, Ida, and Mary Alice. Elsie died as a child. Mary Alice married Harvey Johnson and reared their daughter Eva at Mary Alice's family home. Eva Johnson married Charles Kline of West Chester. Ida married Elmer Gorsuch...they had a son Pearlie.."
