Funeral services for Lewis Weekly were conducted in the Johnson Chapel Friday morning by the Rev. M.E. Van de Mark, pastor of the Epworth Methodist church.
Two selected hymns were sung during the service by Bill Carr with Miss Louise Hanger accompanying at the organ.
Friends acting as pallbearers included Alfred Williams, James M. Egged, P.F. Rygg, Peter Sterner, E.B. Scott and Frank Briggs. Burial was beside his wife in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Lewis Weekly was born in Ohio July 18, 1871 to Solomon and Minnie Coleman Weekly. He moved from there to Iowa where he was engaged in farming. On Feb. 23, 1893 he was married to Martha Ellen Smith in Washington, Iowa. In 1937 they came to Kalispell to make their home. Mrs. Weekly died in Kalispell in October, 1943.
He is survived by one son Howard in Clark, Mo., five daughters, Mrs. Wm. Wilson, Kalispell, Mrs. Ethel Drumm, Frederick, So. Dak., Mrs. Mildred Baxter, Garden City, Mo., Mrs. Minnie Hewitt, Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Belva Johnson, Greeley, Colo.; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Blanche King in Greeley, Co.
Mr. Weekly died in a local hospital Monday, July 14, at the age of 80 years.
