      (John5, John4, Samuel3, Samuel2, Thomas1) was born August 01, 1770, in Somerset County, New Jersey, and died October 01, 1839, in La Porte, Indiana.
      He married (1) Sarah Thorn, on November 02, 1792, in Rahway, New Jersey, daughter of John Thorn and Mary Shotwell. She was born May 16, 1776, and died March 1809.
      He married (2) Sarah Shotwell, on November 29, 1810, in Rahway, New Jersey, daughter of Henry Shotwell. She was born January 02, 1784, and died December 22, 1860, in Rahway, New Jersey.
      Notes for Isaac Vail:
      As a young man of eighteen he helped in the erection of the Plainfield Friends' Meeting House, the centennial of the occupancy of which was celebrated the 20 August 1888. He built the Rahway Friends' Meeting House in 1803.
      Soon after the close of the Black Hawk War, 1832, he settled on a farm near La Porte, Indiana, and there died 1 October 1839. Source: Genealogy Report: Descendants of Thomas Vail.
      His son Lot Vail is buried at the Quaker Cemetery in La Porte, La Porte County, Indiana, and has a stone, most in this cemetery are marked with field stones.
