CHUBBUCK - Mr. Gerald F. Moore, 82, Chubbuck, passed away Wednesday,August 29, 2007, peacefully at the Idaho State Veterans Home inPocatello, Idaho. Gerald was born in Preston, Idaho, on October 23,1924, the son of the late Horatio and Ruby (Trullinger) Moore. AfterGerald graduated from Pocatello High School in 1942. He served ourcountry in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorablydischarged from the service in 1945. He then attended Idaho SateUniversity's Diesel School in 1949.
Gerald married Juanita Gabrielson July 3, 1949.
He worked as a mechanic for Garrett Freightlines for 30 years,retiring in 1985.
Gerald had a great love for the outdoors and his horse, Pal. Heenjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He loved spending time withhis grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that knew andloved him. Gerald is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Jim) Shiltonof Boise, and Barbara (Neal) Hite of Pocatello; and a son, Roger Mooreof Eagle Creek, Oregon. He is also survived by two brothers, Forrestand Eugene, and a sister, Patricia, from Pocatello; grandchildren,Colin, Ben, Nick, Sherry, Levi, Whitney; and great-grandchildren,Hunter, Kelsey. Gerald was preceded in death by son, Carl Moore, andhis wife, Juanita, as well as two brothers and one sister.
Friends are invited to visit with the family today, Saturday, Sept. 1,2007, at 9 a.m. at Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave.Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with theRev. Janie Gebhardt officiating. Interment will follow at MountainView Cemetery, where the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard will offermilitary graveside rites.
