  "Irene A. Newnum, 90, Covington, died at 3:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 1998 in Covington Manor Health Center, where she had been a patient for one month. She was born Dec. 19, 1907 in Fulton Township, Fountain County, the daughter of Ollie and Carrie Stoup Kiger. She married Dallas Ray Newnum Sept. 13, 1927 in Covington. He preceded in death March 16, 1997. She lived in Yeddo for many years and moved to Covington in 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of Yeddo Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 26 years. Surviving, are: three daughters, Betty (Floyd) Evans, Waynetown; Norma Jean (Don) Voorhees, Englewood, Ohio; Sharon (Bob) Huxford, Covington; a son, Gary (Donna) Newnum, Covington; a sister, Phyllis Pucket, Covington; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Reva Riley and Florence Grubbs. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) in the funeral home." ?
