- BALDWYN - Maxine Baxter McKay, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn. She was a former hair dresser and owner of Mary Mac's Fabric.
Services will be at 3: 30 p.m. Tuesday at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Gardner, Dr. Terry Cutrer and Bro. Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan Hall and husband, Bobby, of Amory, and Connie Gardner and husband, Bro. Lee, of Smithville; one son, Larry McKay and wife, Roberta, of Baldwyn; one sister, Mary Kate Smith of Saltillo; one brother, Jimmy Baxter of Baldwyn; one sister-in-law, Vonceil Devaughn of Baldwyn; her grandchildren, Jason McKay and Kelly, Suzanne Trollinger and Ted, Wesley McKay and Dana, Will Hall, Julianne Hall, Ben, Drew and Luke Gardner; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McKay; her parents, Q.C. and Ethel Baxter; three sisters, Bea Grissom, Wyna Russell and Abigal Baxter; one brother, Charles Baxter.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jason McKay, Wesley McKay, Will Hall, Ted Trollinger, Ben Gardner, Drew Gardner and Luke Gardner.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
