Notes - The birth dates of George and Annie's two sons, Isaac and Frederick present a dilemma. How is it possible that they could have two sons both born in the same year yet born in different months? Isaac's birth date is given as Apr 1900 in the 1900 Census and it further states that his mother, Annie, at the time was the mother of only one child which would be Isaac. There is no mention of another son. Frederick's headstone and his Leasburg Cemetery record clearly state his birth date as 17 May 1900. If Frederick's birth date is correct, then why was he not included in the 1900 Census (which was taken on 19 Jun 1900) along with his brother, Isaac? It appears that Frederick's birth year of 1900 as inscribed on his headstone, may have been a mistake on the part of the stone carver and it should have read 1901. If the mistake had been made, then it is a further mystery as to why it was not corrected. However, if it is true that Frederick's birth year was 1901 and not 1900, then yet another dilemma presents itself because Frederick's other brother, George Franklin Trollinger was born on 10 Dec 1901 thereby creating the problem of how could both brothers be born in the same year yet in different months. Hopefully, further evidence will eventually become known that will clear up all these confusions.
