BURLINGTON - Mr. John William Sharpe, 76, of 715 Edinburgh Court, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 8:10 a.m. following one and a half years declining health and one week critical illness.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, at the First United Methodist Church of Graham by Dr. Kenneth Hall.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Carolyn Moon Sharpe who survives and the son of Dennis F. Sharpe and Jessie Trollinger Sharpe, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Real Estate Appraiser and a member of the American Society of Appraisers and the Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Jenny Sharpe of Charlotte; a son, Tim Sharpe of Rock Hill, S.C.; two grandchildren, Rachel Ainsworth and Jacquelyn Sharpe; and a sister, Betty Florence of Baltimore, Md.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor.
