Daughter of Julius & Alberta (Glaubitz) Cerny.
She received her early education in rural Polk County Schools andgraduated from Osceola High School in 1948. She continued hereducation at Nebraska Christian College where she received herteachers certificate. Vera taught in Polk County rural schools andnursery school in Clarks for several years. Vera married Walter Beckon October 13, 1955 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek.They lived in Clarks from 1955 until 1985 when they moved to Columbus.She also worked at Behlen Manufacturing Cafeteria and K-T Yogurt Shop.She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the V.F.W.Auxiliary. She had quilted with the St. Isidore ladies for the past 17years and was their current president. Vera enjoyed spending time withher family, camping and baking.
