Marilyn Jean Carey Rogers, daughter of Joe Carey and Hazel Sargent, was born on Oct. 18, 1927, and graduated in Varina. She was a resident of Spencer and Mesa, Arizona.
Married Dale Rogers in 1948 and a loving mother of three children:
Barry, Lianne and Rick. She worked for Carroll's Bakery and Big D Grocery Store prior to leaving Spencer. She also was a supervisor at Friendship Village in Tempe, Arizona, for 15 years. She moved to Mesa, Arizona, in 1975.
She was an adorable lady, sweet mother and caring grandma and great-grandma. Jeannie died in peace after 93 years of wonderful memories on Aug. 20, 2021. She touched many lives and will be loved and remembered forever.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her daughter, Lianne Rogers Selzer; and daughter-in-law Deb Devore.
Survived by her sons: Barry, Mesa, Arizona, and Rick, Guadalajara, Mexico; her grandchildren: Melissa Wimmer, Lincoln, Nebraska; Chad Rogers, Chandler, Arizona; Amy (Roger) Buchholz, Buffalo, New York; Keri (Jeffrey) Armstrong, Quemado, New Mexico; Chase Rogers (fiance Tori Donnellan), San Diego, California; and Jordan (Jeffrey) Whiton, Boise, Idaho. Great-grandmother of eight and great-great-grandmother of three.
