- Linda Marie Frohlich, 83, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Born on December 14, 1940, in Madison County, NC, Linda was the daughter of the late Helen Trollinger Gorenflo and the late James Gorenflo.
Born in Hot Springs, NC and eventually moved to Maryville, Tennessee. Linda was a 1962 graduate of the University of Tennessee's nursing program. Married to Frank D. Frohlich at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church March in 1963. Linda and Frank moved to Charleston, SC in 1963 so he could pursue a teaching career at The Citadel. Linda, a registered nurse, worked for Roper Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. When an opportunity arose, Linda was asked to join the staff at The Citadel's infirmary. She always said she could write a book about the antics of the cadets. She retired from The Citadel after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a wonderful baker and is best known for her carrot cake, eclairs and assorted cookies. An avid puzzler, she loved to work the crossword puzzle and Jumble in the daily paper. She traveled the US extensively and even acted as campground host in Utah's Arches National Park. She is truly Loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Frohlich and her brother, James Gorenflo.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Heaton (William); son, Matthew Frohlich (Doneen); grandchildren, Zachary Pace and Carson Frohlich; and brother, Charles Gorenflo.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley.
