- Carl Wayne Knox Sr., 69, Palmetto, died May 26, 2004. He was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Delaware County, Ind, and came to Manatee County in 1974 from Muncie, Ind. He was an electrician for Romine's Electrical Co. in Bradenton. He retired as a staff sergeant after serving in the Air Force for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Military Retirees Association and the Retired Enlisted Association.
Survivors include his wife, Llanie S.; a daughter, Helen East of Abilene, Texas; stepdaughters Allyson Brown of Palmetto and Amy Sweitcer of Muncie; sons Carl W. Jr. of Bradenton, Anthony of Mansfield, Texas, Bruce of Eastland, Texas, and Jeremy of Columbus, Ind.; a sister, Naomi Fiddler of San Antonio; a brother, Raymond of Yorktown, Ind; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
No local visitation or services are scheduled. All services will be in Muncie. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Muncie. Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 26th St Chapel, is in charge.
