- James Jerrold Owens, age 72 of Oneida, TN, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida. Born November 23, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul and Virginia Trollinger Owens of Dalton, GA.
Jerrold graduated from North Whitfield High School and had a love for trucking from which he made a career of long-haul trucking. He was employed Old Dominion Freight Line of Ringgold, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son: Houston Owens; his first wife: Kathy Joan Owens; grandson: Nathan C. Chambers; and brother: Alvin Eugene Owens.
Jerrold is survived by his children: Mark Owens (Angie), Anthony Owens (Sheena), Tim Strunk, Leasia Cordle (Jeff); step-sons: Brian Black (Lisa), and Boyd Black (Debra); Fiancée: Pam Jones; daughter: Miranda E. Clayborn; a special friend as a son: Chad Jones and family and all the Duncan family; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones.
Friends may visit with the Owens family on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fults and Bro. Jeff Ledford officiating. Music will be provided by: Jamie and Toni Byrd.
Committal service will follow in the New Light Cemetery in Winfield, TN. Pallbearers will be: Anthony Owens, Tim Strunk, Mark Owens, Wes Cross, Chad Jones and Richard Foster.
