Aaron A. Trullinger was the son of Daniel and Polly Trullinger of Jefferson County Iowa. He was born March 25 1843. There were only two children in the family, the other being a daughter. After reaching the years of manhood he married Miss Sabina Marmon of Polk county in 1864.They came to Calhoun County in 1865 and bought some land. Here they made their home until the death of his wife Jan 25 1891. By industry and business management they added to his property until he was considered a wealthy man.
There were ten children in the family and all are living but one. They are Mrs Ellen Spencer of Rockwell City; Mrs Nettie Maddie of Lake City; Mrs Carrie Martin of Rockwell City; Mrs Cora Pooler of Sac City; Dan Trullinger of Lake City; Bert Trullinger of Ft. Dodge; Earl Trullinger of Windom Minn; Mrs Rachel Binkert of Lake City and Mrs Dora Ripley also of Lake City.
After the death of his wife he spent two years in town but all the rest of his life was spent on his farm. His health was falling during the winter and he suffered from asthma. This was followed recently by a paralytic stroke and he died at 730 Saturday evening, March 8 1919.
There remain of his family, his sister, Mrs Mary Jones of Des Moines, his ten children and twenty grand children. The sympathy of the community goes out to them in their sorrow. The body was laid to rest in Cottonwood Cemetery. All of the children were present at the services.
