Notes - Rev. Rupert and Grace MERRITT lived in Louisville, KY while he attended the Southern Baptist Seminary in the early 1930's. They lived for a while on Hite St, then Hillside Terrace. They may also have lived on Aubert Ave., then in the Rice Hall apartments on the Seminary campus. About 1936 he was pastor of the Baptist Church in Mt. Eden, just outside Shelbyville, Ky. During the 1937 Great Flood of the Ohio River, they took care of two of their nephews, Daniel M. and William V. Trollinger, who were sent to Mt. Eden from their home in Louisville for safety.
