- Treva Cockman Yarbrough, 81, of Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and RehabCenter, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004.
Graveside service for Mrs. Yarbrough will be held at 2 p.m. Thursdayat Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Guilford County on Dec. 22, 1922, to CausieBelton Cockman and Dora Hawks Cockman. She was the proud owner ofTreva's Beauty Salon for over 40 years and an employee of Cone MillsWhite Oak Plant. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith andenjoyed crafts, sewing and the flea market. Mrs. Yarbrough loved musicand played the guitar, mandolin and the autoharp. She was preceded indeath by her husband, George Frank Yarbrough, her infant brother,Baise Cockman and a sister, Clara Trollinger.
Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by her loving daughter, Denise andson-in-law Jim Sherron of Greensboro; brothers, Vernie Cockman andwife Imogene of Greensboro and Paul Cockman and wife Jean of BrownSummit; several nieces and nephews; cats, Bucky and Toby; and hersister-in-law Alpha Hoover of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeralhome.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Blumenthalfor all their kindness, support and care of Mrs. Yarbrough.
