He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a barber. He retired from the Norfork Southern Railroad in 2000 where he had worked as a clerk for 34 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Everett and Alberta Hendren,; brothers Louis and Laurence Hendren. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Tryllis of Newburgh; stepson, Brian Isaacs; stepdaughter, Melinda (Phillip) Voegel; grandchildren, Anastasia (Jeffrey) McCarroll, Keven Voegel and Everett Isaacs; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth McCarroll; brothers, Floyd Hendren and Daniel (Judy) Hendren. Anyone who knew Alan knew he was a no fuss kind of guy and the family has chosen to follow his wishes of a simple and private memorial. Arrangements by Titzer Family Funeral Homes, 510 W.
