- Mr. William Patrick Glynn, age 94, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Bill was born on November 3, 1929 to William and Jennie (Drollinger) Glynn in Grand Rapids, MI. On April 8, 1949 he married the love of his life, Marjorie Cole. Bill worked for Plainfield Lumber and Hardware for 58 years as the foreman and lumber buyer. He had an exceptional work ethic and rarely missed a day of work.
Bill loved the outdoors. Every year he looked forward to deer hunting with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and raising his chickens. Bill was a devoted Irishman and celebrated Saint Patrick's Day and everything associated with it. He was a life-long member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Bill is survived by his loving children Shari (John) Williams, Bill (Karen) Glynn, Tim (Debra) Glynn, and Michael (Kathy) Glynn; grandchildren Keith (Danielle) Glynn, Erin (Todd) Dittenber, Beth Ann (Jake) Tazelaar, Megan Glynn, Daniel Glynn, Thomas Glynn, John Williams; nine great grandchildren; sister Sally Ferris; sisters in law, Joan Keeling and Edna Potts; several nieces and nephews; his beloved canine friend Joey.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Glynn, grandson Bill Glynn, and sister Patricia Glynn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe St., Rockford, Michigan 49341, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, March 21, 2024, 11:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd., NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Father Ayub Francis Nasar presiding. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church.
Burial will take place in the Plainfield Township Cemetery.
