Another Former Keesler Soldier is Honored

ANOTHER FOR3IER KEESLER SOLDIER IS HONORED Another young man -who learned his basic soldiering at Keesler Field has been honored for bravery and courage under fire recent War Department and newspaper stories reveal He is S Sgt William J Trol-linger Jr 19 Washington DC Sergeant Trollinger has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his part in shooting down three Japanese planes out of a group of five over the Celebes last July 21 Sergeant Trollinger took his basic training at Keesler in the summer of 1942 leaving here in mid-August for gunnery school at Las Vegas Nevada He took his technical training at Lowry Field Denver Colo.
