10256 I3049  Drollinger  James B.  31 Mar 1850  1 Mar 1878  I believe his birth name is James Burton Drollinger. His older brother Malcomb named his son James Burton Drollinger who was born in 1874. I believe Malcomb named his son in honor of his brother's memory as he died young. (David H. Drollinger 16 Feb 2021)  tree1

10258 I13697  Drollinger  James Burton   18 Jul 1874  27 Nov 1948  Hopefully, someone will contact us at Drollingergenealogy.com with proof of the proper spelling of James' middle name and his exact marriage date and place.

George Washington D. is the son of James Berten "Bert" and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Cox) Drollinger. He was born abt 1917. Their children are Ernest James, Benjamin H., Patricia Sue, David Finley, and Robert. I have quite a bit more info about these people and their descendants that I don't have time right now to give you, but it's a fair amount. I've also found a cooperative member of the family (a cousin to these guys) who is suppose to get me the details on who everybody is, etc. You might want to wait for me to just send you my copy of my entire database which is one of the things I was hoping my son, Blake could help me with over Christmas but it just didn't pan out. But since I've added so much info since my last update to you that is something I think we should do rather soon.
As it turns out, I have been aware of his obit since last Nov when I was searching around for recent Drollinger deaths. Here is the copy of his obit that I came across then (see below: ed note removed to David F.'s notes). It confirmed his middle name and several of his children for me as well as his parentage thankfully. Although I didn't know they were related at the time, I see I had contacted his niece, Keely Ann Marie Drollinger, daughter of his brother, Ernest James back in 1995. Maybe, when I get some time, I'll try contacting one of David Finley's children and try to get all the details on their immediate branch of the family.
Take care...don't despair!

What Is An Oil Change?
By J&J Automotive Services
Did you know that 30% of vehicles on the road today have low, overfull, or dirty engine oil. "Clean" oil is the life-blood of any engine and changing the oil and the oil filter frequently is what keeps the vehicle's engine running smoothly, mile after mile.
Each mechanical system in a vehicle works in concert with the other, like cells, muscles and tissues in the human body. Oil protects, lubricates and cools the mechanical component through which it flows. Changing your oil and oil filter at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended intervals keeps contaminants out and protects your vehicle's engine from costly, maybe irreparable, damage.
The oil lubricates the internal moving parts of your car's engine and keeps them working together with minimum friction. The oil filter plays the highly important role of sifting out the harmful dirt and contaminants that threaten to enter the oil system. Failure to change the oil and filter routinely often causes increased oil consumption, premature engine wear, major repairs and in extreme cases, engine failure.
Jim Drollinger, owner of J&J Automotive Services states, "Changing the oil and filter frequently is your part of practicing preventive maintenance not to mention it is much less expensive than a major repair or engine replacement." The first automotive oil filter was invented in 1923. That alone should be a clue to motorists just how critical this service is to perform regularly.
Drollinger suggests motorists follow the guidelines given in their vehicle owner's manual when determining your correct service interval. Motorists in our metropolitan area that experience frequent starts and stops, idling for extended periods of time, and or towing a recreational vehicle are defined as a "severe" driving condition therefore, it's best to it's better to stick to the tried-and-true three months or 3,000 miles oil change schedule.
Drollinger tells us, "The oil filter is designed to keep out the contaminants while at the same time allowing clean oil to flow through the system. Motorists should always change the oil filter at the same time they are changing the engine oil. This is one area where motorists need to not cut corners, unless they can afford to pay the price of an engine replacement." Drollinger recommends changing your oil every 3,000 miles or every 3 months which ever comes first.

10264 I13595  Drollinger  James Edward  31 Aug 1960  31 Jan 2013  Ref obit photo of James.
Name: James Edward Drollinger
Date: August 31st, 1960 - January 31st, 2013
Obituary: On January 31, 2013, James Edward (Jim) Drollinger (52) of Manassas, VA passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his father Robert (Bob) Drollinger. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Main; his four children, James (32), Shannon (19), Kelley (16), and Michael (13) Drollinger all of Manassas; his mother Mary Catherine Drollinger of Frederick, MD; one brother, Dale Drollinger and his wife Sharyn of Aquia Harbor; three sisters, Kathy Boyland and her husband Steve of Ijamsville, MD; Tina Magnanelli and her husband George of Monrovia, MD; Diana Golombieski and her husband John also of Monrovia, MD; and two grandchildren, Kevin (6) and Charlie (8 months).
Jim was an avid car enthusiast and along with his wife founded J&J Automotive Services in Manassas, Va. Jim was highly regarded in the industry as the most highly certified technician in the field and served as an expert witness for legal matters relating to automotive service and repair.
Jim also held a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems with a minor in Business Management from Strayer University. He had many Information Technology and Project Management Certifications. He held a TS/SCI security clearance and was a Project Manager for IT Veterans, LLC.
Austin West, founder of IT Veterans remembered Jim as "always dedicated to the success of whatever he was working on. He was definitely a 'whatever it takes' and 'get it done' kind of guy. At first glance, most people didn't appreciate who Jim was and what he was capable of. But it usually wasn't long before most realized the value that Jim brought to any work he was doing. A bit old school, but smart enough to embrace new ideas and concepts if they made sense, Jim was great to work with and IT Veterans is proud to have had him on our team.
"Jim was truly a good man. He was the kind of friend that we all want. He was honest, loyal, and would stand up for what is right even if it wasn't the popular choice. He was the friend that would be there in an instant if you needed him, no matter what. Jim had values and morals, and he stuck by them. He made his little corner of the world a better place as well as the people he touched. He was a great father and husband and was loved by many."
Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 12975 Purcell Road, Manassas at 11am. A continued time of fellowship will immediately follow the mass in the church fellowship hall.
Memorial contributions may be given in the form of a donation to the Drollinger Memorial Education Fund to assist his four children in reaching their education goals. Southeast Missouri Hospital
Southeast's Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Offers Patients Specialized Exercise Options
By Sally Owen
Satellite Program at Dexter
(excerpt) When Jim Drollinger of Wapappello. MO needed cardiac rehab, he didn't have to worry about making the 50-plus mile trip to Southeast Missouri Hospital several times a week, Instead, Drollinger makes the short drive to Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, where Southeast has a satellite cardiac and pulmonary rehab program.
Rena Hefner, RN, says more than 20 patients a day take advantage of the satellite program, which has been in operation since the summer of 1998. While exercising, patients are continually monitored by a transtelephonic hook-up with Southeast's Cardiac Rehab.
Drollinger says he finds the program convenient and accessible. "I had my doubts at first, but it's turned out to be a big plus for me. It's helping my heart and it's helping me keep my blood sugar in control." And, he laughs, "it's giving me more wind to tell big stories with!"

10284 I12941  Drollinger  James Wilmer "Jim"  5 Jun 1943  6 Mar 2003  In Loving Memory of
Jim Drollinger
(aka: Little Jim, Road Runner, or Technogeek)
Born June 5th, 1943
Died March 6th, 2003

A year has passed since Jim went in for a simple procedure and didn't come home.
We didn't realize what an impact he had on our daily lives until he was gone.
Not only do we miss his physical presence (his cap, his sideburns, his chubby belly)
but we miss him and everything that made him who he was.
We miss his daily phone calls and e-mails.
I wonder how many computers suffered from "Technogeek withdrawal" last spring?
We miss seeing his truck sitting at the coffee shop everyday for hours.
Oh, how he loved to go out with "the Gang" on Friday nights and visit with his buddies.
In fact, he loved to visit with everyone. As the months passed, we were overwhelmed at the stories we heard. And we heard a lot. He touched everyone he met and talked with. From the ER Clerk at Dexter Hospital to the lady he bought his cell-phone from who cried when we called to cancel his plan.
He loved the Lake and being part of "the Lake". He used to say he couldn't go out of town overnight 'cause "the Corp might drain the puddle" if he was gone. Well, we took care of that for him. There is a beautiful view of the lake from his gravesite. And he is pretty close to the coffee shop too. He will never leave the Lake.
Our human nature makes us selfish. We would have liked for him to have stayed around for many more years but the Lord had other plans for him. He left us suddenly and unexpectedly.
He left us with a hole in our hearts but many wonderful memories that can never be replaced or forgotten.
Think of Jim on March 6th and smile because he would have wanted you to.

10298 I2932  Drollinger  Jared Franklin  10 May 1848  23 Apr 1927  Jared was named for his mother's brother Jared Chapman, a physician in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and the spelling of his name was sometimes mangled in the records. In his father's 1870 household, he's listed as "Jerrold;" his marriage record lists him as "Jerrod." However it was spelled, he farmed all his life in his Wills Township birth place, marrying rather late for a Drollinger, at almost 31. He married Amanda Jarrell a year after his younger brother Erastus married her younger sister Mary Alice. Jared, as the oldest son of Gabriel still living in the county, administered his father's estate and when his mother died, he and his brother Quinby brokered the equitable settlement of the family squabbles that occurred after the reading of their mother's quirky will. All the heirs received an equal amount of cash and Jared and Quinby bought out their siblings' shares of the lands. Jared, and Quinby, too, was intimately familiar with the land, having farmed it for his father for some time. Jared's listing in the Mill Creek 1902 directory notes his 273 acres and assessed value of personal property $57.
Amanda died 16 March 1923, four years before Jared, after an illness of a year. Their bachelor son Clarence, 39 years old, was still living at home in 1920 and was farming the home property which freed Jared to look after Amanda. An aura of mystery surrounds the family. After Jared died on 23 April 1927, it took his sons Clarence and Walter six months to apply for letters of administration. The estate was not closed until 1943 when Clarence and Walter, the only heirs, signed off. There was virtually no personal estate, but there were 5 parcels of land totaling nearly 254 acres with an appraised value of some $10,000. There is no indication in the probate file that there were problems that would cause the estate to take some 16 years to settle. Amanda and Jared were buried in in Sauktown Cemetery, LaPorte County, Indiana, as were their sons, Clarence in 1956, Walter in 1977.

Jared was a juror in a murder trial in 1908
