Kenneth Wayne Miklaucic Obit
SALEM - Kenneth (Kenney) Miklaucic passed away at the age of 71, due to Heart Failure on Octo- ber 31, 2018 in Kansas City, MO. Kenney was born on May 22, 1947 in Whittier, CA to Charles “Ray” Miklaucic and Nellie (Prater) Miklaucic. He was raised in California, and graduated in 1965 from Warren High School. Kenney was preceded in death by his father Charles Ray, his brother Bradlee Miklaucic, and his daughter Kimberly Miklaucic-Herrera. He is sur- vived by his loving wife of 50 years Ruth (Walrath) Miklaucic, son Scott Miklaucic of Salem, daughter Holley Trollinger (Mark) of Newberg, OR, Mother Nellie Jane Miklaucic of Bishop, CA, brothers Charles Ray Miklaucic, Jr. of Bishop, CA and Michael Miklaucic of Downey, CA; eight grandchildren — Tiana, Tabatha, Mateo, Andrea, Rebecca, Rachel, Rylee and Renee; and great granddaughter Kimberly. He is also survived by loving in-laws: Dotti Porter, Nancy Campbell, Brad Smith (Bev), Lee Hymer (Mary) and close friends: Ken and Anne Chapman, Hans and Karin Reith, Coleen and Albert Elser, Larry and Robin Tucker, Al and Arcena Tocchini, Judy Johnson and many more who were fortunate to make his acquaintance. Kenney served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, including service in Viet Nam. He worked for 23 years in Downey CA as a Meat Cutter, and many years in Salem OR as Automotive and Electronics Department Managers at K-Mart in Salem, OR. Kenney was a devoted member of Trinity Covenant and Salem Heights churches in Salem, and of American Legion. He was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia, old and fast cars; and he loved to play “Hand & Foot” card game and Bunco dice game with his friends. Kenney might best be remembered for his participation and leadership in the annual “Walk for March of Dimes” during his years at K-Mart, for his love of cooking, and for his kind and friendly personality, and deep devotion to his family, friends and his Lord. Though very ill, Kenney got his last wish of travelling across the U.S. with his wife Ruth and friends Ken and Anne Chapman. He was able to visit Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Niagara Falls, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, the Statue of Liberty, and spent much of the trip in hospitals. He ended his journey, certainly reaching his final home - “Heaven”. Services are to be held at Salem Heights Church on Saturday, December 1, 2018, beginning at 1:30 PM. Donations in place of flowers may be made in his memory to “The March of Dimes.” Kenneth Wayne Miklaucic
