Patsi Barnes Marries Richard Trollinger
The wedding of Miss Patsi Barnes and Richard Trollinger took place on June 3 at 4 p.m., on the campus of Emory and Henry College, Emory, Va. Rev. Gerald Mustard officiated. Susan Keebler and Debbie Strang sang contemporary music, accompanied by David St. Clair on the guitar.

The ceremony was written by the bride and groom and was composed of three main parts. At the beginning of the ceremony, the families and friends were recognized as an integral part in the lives of the couple, and were asked to commit themselves to further support in the life of the couple.

Next was the reading of "The Wedding Sermon," written by Dietrich Bonhoffer, explaining the importance of marriage and the responsibilities the couple is undertaking. Following this, the couple exchanged the traditional wedding vows and exchanged wedding bands.

The bride's attendants were her sister, Mary Barnes Ford of Roanoke, and her roommate, Miriam Cox Brown of Oak Ridge. The bridegroom's attendants were his father and his brother, Marvin Trollinger of Richmond, Va. Henry Dawson of Emory and Henry, directed the wedding.

A reception was held in the Tobias Smith house on the campus, and was directed by Mrs. Clyde E. Mitchell of Kingsport, assisted by Mrs. Lucille Armbrister of Emory, Va. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Barnes of Blountville, was graduated from Emory and Henry College summa cum laude. She received the T. L. Snavely Award for the highest academic performance and the Senior Service Key for outstanding service to the college community. She was chairman of Emphasis 1972, participated in environmental programs, served on the Student Council, and was a member of the Drama Society.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Trollinger of Roanoke, Va. He was an honor graduate of Emory and Henry College and has worked in admissions with the college during the past year. He will enter Boston College in September with a three-year scholarship toward a PhD degree in philosophy. Both the bride and groom were named to "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities" during their junior and senior years.

This summer, the couple is serving as program coordinators and counselors at Camp Wesley Woods, a Methodist Church camp at Townsend.
