Drollinger and all his wonderful help I was able to go further with my Drollingers. But still have some unknowns. Here is what I have found briefly. John Drollinger of Ohio went to Wilson Co Tn by 1820.His wife was Mary from NC.John died about 1822 in Wilson Co. and left wife Mary daughter Mary ,daughter Sarah, and W.S. Drollinger a son and probably other children. They jointly inherited all his lands in Wilson. The daughter Mary married Milton N.McGehee in 1837. The entire family sold land and with Milton went to Weakley Co. in 1839. In 1845 daughter Mary the wife of Milton died. Then 1846 Milton died. He left daughter name unknown born 1838 and John C.McGehee a baby b.1845 .Mary the wife of John Drollinger raised the two children. She had owned land in her own name in Weakley as did her son W.S.Drollinger. Mary Drollngers other daughter Sarah married twice . First husband died in civil war and then she remarried to a wealthy man in Paragould Ark. W.S.Drollinger and his family and his mother Mary Drollinger all moved to Paragould before 1860 and after 1850. W.S. Drollingers daughter also a Mary wed to Peter Outhouse in Weakley Co. Tn.John Calvin McGehee is my Gr-Grandfatherand his mother Mary (nee) Drollinger is my gr-gr-grandmother and so on back. I have never been able to find the maiden name of Mary widow of John Drollinger in either NC or Ohio. Nor have I found her death and burial in Ark. The baby she raised John C McGehee after the war went back to Weakley Co. TN and bought land and died there. I have much on him. He gave the account of his mother and fathers death and much else. He did say that his grandmother who raised him Mary Drollinger spoke with a heavy brogue. Whether this would be Irish or Scots or German I do not know.I have many land deeds ,census records, marriage records and etc. In all of them the name has been mispelled to the point it would be unrecognizable without other data. In one land deed of W.S. Drollinger and also another for Mary this same land is later listed under 2 others named Dillinger which are probably sons of W.S. Also the marriages are listed variously under Drollender,Dollinger,Doolinger and etc. On the census it lists all these families as illiterate which explains why the difference in spellings. If anyone could help on the maiden name of Mary b.abt 1796 who was widow of John Drollinger in Wilson Co.Tn I would be greatfull.I have more details of all this data and in Ark if anyone is interested. The W.S. listed had many children . Pat I hear ethereal whispers persuasive, soft and still, "Daughter,if you don't remember us,who will?" | Drollinger, William S. (I5377)
