47701 The 1860 Census taker appears to have been very meticulous. As a result, Emeline's name is clearly spelled 'Emeline'. Ref her father's record to see an actual copy of the 1860 Census.

The 'Elmina' spelling of her name is questionable and requires evidence.

47710 The Angels led Olive May Greene to Paradise on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010. Olive died of natural causes at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was 102. Olive was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., July 14, 1908, to Sam and Kate (East) Trolinger. She spent her childhood and early adult years in Dillon, graduating from Beaverhead County High School, attending Western in Dillon and working in the Golden Rule store (later becoming JC Penney's). On May 28, 1931, Olive married Robert Bruce Greene, a childhood sweetheart. In addition to Dillon, the couple resided in Twin Bridges, Butte, Missoula and Augusta. Following Olive's husband's death in December of 1980, Olive resided briefly in Houston, Texas, and Santa Ana, Calif., before settling in Kalispell in 1983. Olive lived independently until March 2010. Throughout her life, Olive loved to have fun. She loved participating in the Kalispell Fair days, even riding on several floats over the years. She relished being with her friends and participating in the activities at Glacier Manor. She enjoyed celebrating her 102nd birthday with friends and family just 16 days ago. She credited her long life to walks around town, even in the winter, and to being happy within herself. Olive is survived by her son, Eugene Greene; and daughter, Eddie Greene; grandchildren, Guy Greene, Lorri Carson, Kathy Des Rosier, Deidre Bennett, Bruce Greene, Kirk Hollo, Kelsey Morris, Ryan Lutz, Joshua Greene and Megan Greene. Olive has 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Many others called Olive Gramma. Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Greene; son, Robert Greene; and grandsons, Michael Greene and Hans Hollo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home. Olive will be interred in Missoula, beside her husband of 49 years. Johnson - Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Olive's family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Olive s Tribute Wall and offer condolences.

THE BEE 30 YEARS AGO

Despite the torrid heat yesterday, sufficient tobacco was on the local market to keep the sales running for two and a half hours. Some Caswell county primings brought as high as $16. Among those bringing weed here J. T. and G. W. Trollinger, famous Caswell county tobacco raisers. They were especially pleased with the prices.

47723 The birth date portion of her headstone inscription clearly shows July. However, her birth DAY & YEAR are still in question! Turner, Nancy Leanna "Leann" (I22376)

47724 The birth dates of George and Annie's two sons, Isaac and Frederick present a dilemma. How is it possible that they could have two sons both born in the same year yet born in different months? Isaac's birth date is given as Apr 1900 in the 1900 Census and it further states that his mother, Annie, at the time was the mother of only one child which would be Isaac. There is no mention of another son. Frederick's headstone and his Leasburg Cemetery record clearly state his birth date as 17 May 1900. If Frederick's birth date is correct, then why was he not included in the 1900 Census (which was taken on 19 Jun 1900) along with his brother, Isaac? It appears that Frederick's birth year of 1900 as inscribed on his headstone, may have been a mistake on the part of the stone carver and it should have read 1901. If the mistake had been made, then it is a further mystery as to why it was not corrected. However, if it is true that Frederick's birth year was 1901 and not 1900, then yet another dilemma presents itself because Frederick's other brother, George Franklin Trollinger was born on 10 Dec 1901 thereby creating the problem of how could both brothers be born in the same year yet in different months. Hopefully, further evidence will eventually become known that will clear up all these confusions. Trollinger, Frederick T. (I25102)

47726 The birth of this child is somewhat of a mystery. According to this child's death certificate he or she (sex unspecified) was born to Will and Lizzie Trollinger on 13 Dec 1928 and died three days later on 16 Dec 1928. What makes this a mystery is is that Will and Lizzie had another child (ref that child's record and corresponding death certificate), a female, who was born 28 Aug 1927 and died 30 Aug 1927. As one can see, the difference in birth dates between these two children is only about four and a half months and therefore begs the question as to how Lizzie could have birthed two children in half the normal nine month gestation period. Trollinger, Unknown (I46548)

47739 The Census taker in the 1870 Census very clearly records Mary as "B M Drollander". The census taker was no doubt speaking directly to Mary or Mary's daughter, Sarah or both of them together. Therefore, the question is, what name does the letter 'B' represent in Mary's name?

Mary "Polly" was living with her daughter, Sarah in the 1870 Census.
