55841 WEDDINGBELLS
FOX - TRULLINGER
1900
Press Report
"A most delightful wedding party made Thanksgiving Day a joyous occasion at the elegant residence of Hon. & Mrs. Lee Laughlin in North Yamhill. The happy contracting parties were Miss Grace S. Fox and Mr. Fred L. Trullinger. The ceremony was conducted by Elder J. A. Cambell in the presence of about fifty relatives and friends. While Miss Laura Fox of Astoria, cousin of the bride, played the wedding march, the bride was given away by her father, following which an impressive ceremony was pronounced. The rooms were tastefully decorated with yellow and white chrysanthemums. A large horse-shoe composed of the same flowers was suspended by white satin ribbons in the center of the bay window and beneath this, they stood. Mrs. Mary Trullinger, sister of the groom, acting as bridesmaid and Mr. Chester Fox of Astoria, brother of the bride, acting as best man. The bride was attired in a gown of rare, old ivory silk, elaborately trimmed with mousselline de soie. The bodice was composed almost entirely of the same material, save for the tiny bolero of silk, trimmed with an applique of embroidered chiffan. The skirt was made in train, being edged with rows and rows of tiny embroidered mousseline de soie ruffles giving the up-to-date 'billowy effect.' She carried a bouquet
of white crysanthemums, ornamento, diamonds. The bridesmaid was gowned in a dainty creation of light blue organcy and carried a bouquet of yellow and white crysanthemums. The groom was neatly attired in the conventional
black. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. John Fox, collector of customs, Port of Astoria, and had made her home since infancy, with her uncle and aunt, Hon. & Mrs. Lee Laughlin. She is highly accomplished and a most esteem able young lady.

The groom is the oldest son of Mr. & Mrs. D. P. Trullinger of this place and is one of North Yamhill's most enterprising and capable businessmen and is possessed of sterling worth of character and has a host of friends. There were
many beautiful and expensive presents. There were present': Mr. John Fox, Mrs. M.J. Fox, Laura Fox, F.C. Fox, Astoria, Oregon.
Mr. & Mrs. T.W. Wood, Dr. and Mrs. Wood, Hillsboro, Oregon.
Mr. & Mrs. C.E. Bradley, Vera Stewart, Forest Grove, Oregon.

Volume 3, pages 136-137 - Biographical Sketch of Alfred A. Pancake.
"ALFRED A. PANCAKE. One of the respresentative and honored citizens of Harrisburg is Alfred A. Pancake, now retired from active business, but formerly an enterprising factor in the business circles of Harrisburg. He was born June 22, 1829, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Jacob Pancake, the father was born in Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, in 1803. He was educated in the private schools of Harrisburg, and early in life learned the trade of saddler and followed it for several years. He was associated in this line of business, on Market Square, with Samuel Hayes, and finally sold out and engaged in the lumber trade, with George Trullinger, under the firm name of Trullinger & Co. On account of failing health he sold his business and lived a retired life for a few years, dying about 1840. He married Susan Trullinger, by whom were born the following children: Alfred A., of this notice. George, married Margaret Moore, of Harrisburg, both now deceased. Caroline, died 1906, was wife of Theopholas Weaver, deceased. Edwin, married Isabella Lindsey, in Harrisburg.
Alfred A. Pancake, son of Jacob and Susan (Trullinger) Pancake, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, June 22, 1829, and educated in the public schools. When quite young he learned the machinist trade, in Schuylkill county, following it for several years. In 1856 he engaged in the planing mill business and operated in lumber, at 500 Race street, continuing for thirty years. About 1886 he sold his lumber business and retired. In 1874 he erected for himself a residence at No. 33 South Front street, where he resided several years. In 1894 he built a house on the corner of Second street and Reily, where he still lives. Politically Mr. Pancake is a Republican, but of the independent type, supporting the best fitted men, regardless of party lines. He is a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church, of Reily street, of which he has been a trustee for many years. He is a director of the Harrisburg National Bank.
He married, in 1854, Martha Edwards, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, by whom four children were born, three of whom died in infancy. The fourth child was Gertrude, who died 1894; she married Alfred Snavely, of Harrisburg, two children living-Martha and Gertrude. (See the family sketch of Mr. Snavely elsewhere in this work.) The mother, Martha (Edwards) Pancake, died at the age of fifty-four years. For his second wife Mr. Pancake married, 1894, Emma Edwards, daughter of Matthew Edwards."

What Is Bridges?
In the Bridges Lab we focus on improving a student's ability to learn. The Bridges program works to improve sensory-motor integration, strengthen the vision system, and improve cognition. Lab activities involve the use of rebounders, balance boards, and a variety of other materials under the supervision of a trained lab specialist. Teachers, counselors, principals, and/or parents refer students to Bridges. In the Bridges Lab we assess 26 cognitive abilities and 11 perceptual skills. In grades 3-5, we evaluate test scores, construct a profile of student skills and abilities, determine what needs to be improved, and then create a specific program of learning exercises for that student. In grades 1-2 students are referred to the Bridges Lab and engage in group activities.
Covington Elementary School Bridges Lab
We are beginning our second year of the Bridges program at Covington Elementary School. We have had 35 students sucessfully complete the program, with another 50 currently enrolled and new groups beginning soon. We are seeing improvements in our students daily. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact me via e-mail or at (765) 793-5216 ext. 260. Thank you.
