Ron was born May 11, 1953 in Palo Alto, Calif., to Forrest Edward and Velda May Drollinger Gowen. Ron was a self-employed contractor. Known all his days as a man of strength and hard work, he would leave for the job before sunup and not quit till after sundown. His labors were often free when he felt someone needed help. He was a big man with a big heart, willing to share his time and talents with others. His Bible and Book of Mormon were well used because they were well read. He was a man of honesty. We?ll all miss you, Ron. Ron is survived by his brother, Bruce Gowen, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and sisters, Carol Kennedy of Robertson, Wyo., and Beverly Doney of Vermont. Stanley and Ruth Hoff, of Lime Hill, who preceded him in death. Stanley graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School, Class of 1962. He then served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was employed by the Peachtree Center in Atlanta, GA, until two years ago, when his health prevented him from working. Stanley is survived by his wife, Sandra Cummings Hoff, formerly of Turners Falls, MA, now of Duluth, GA; sons Lloyd Hoff, III, Joseph W. Hoff, both of MI and Charles H.C. Hoff of Hopkinsville, KY; sisters, Sandra H. McGavin of Mehoopany and Mrs. Barbara Dudley of North Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. By his death Pulaski County has lost one of their best citizens, if not the oldest . Mr. Trinkle's father, Mr. Stephen Trinkle, was one of the pioneer settlers of this county, having owned extensive lands throughout Pulaski County and the land on which Dublin now stands. Mr. Jacob Trinkle was one of a family of ten, four boys and six girls, of which he was the last surviving son and three sisters survive him - Mrs. Jacob Anderson, Dublin, Va., Mrs. Robert Stephens, Christiansburg, Va., and Mrs. J. H. Hage [Hoge], Bland, Va., - besides two sons and two daughters - Mr. J. S. Trinkle, Dublin, Va., Mr. W. C. Trinkle, Bland, Va ., and Mrs. S. C. Foot [sic] and Mrs. R. P. Johnson, Wytheville, Va. He was raised on the farm near Dublin, but the last thirty years of his life has been spent on his farms in Bland County. The funeral service wi ll be held in Dublin Wednesday and the interment will take place at the old Trinkle burial grounds near here on the farm where he spent his early life as a boy. "...Jacob and Eliza [Jane Kirkner] were married in Pulaski County on April 29, 1845 by William P. Bishop. [Jacob was a farmer, but] during the Civil War ... helped mine salt-peter [sic] in the cave on Trinkle land for use in making gun powder. After Eliza's death in 1873, Jacob in 1877 purchased the Morgan farm in Bland County on April 9, 1877. He married Lou Noble and moved to the farm in Bland County. In 1906 due to poor health he sold the Bland farm and moved back to Dublin. He died there on June 29, 1909. Jacob and Eliza are burried [sic] in the Dublin cemetary." S. Route 68, about seven miles south of Xenia. Gabriel E. Drollinger Jr., 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel E. Drollinger, 1522 Columbia Rd., Loveland, was killed when hit as he stood on the driver's side of the car, scraping the windshield. The car of Mrs. Jennie McMillan, 36, of 533 N. Wood St., Wilmington, approaching from behind, slid into the parked Drollinger car, hit it in the rear, and jackknifed around, pinning the youth, reported Xenia Post, State Highway Patrol. Young Drollinger was pronounced dead at Greene Memorial Hospital, where he and his mother were taken by Greene County Rescue. Mrs. Drollinger was treated for minor injury. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son Dennis Wayne Russell a grandson Master George Russell IV, and sisters Maddlean Leath and Trudy Janie Johnson. She was a faithful member of Graves Chapel Baptist church where she served as the church mother. She also served on the auxiliary board, the mass choir and was also the vice-president. She loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers. Public viewing will begin on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel. Kathie, the daughter of Marvin E. Trollinger and the late Mary Lou Trollinger, was born October 12, 1951 at Community Hospital in Springfield. She was a resident of Yellow Springs and graduated from Yellow Springs High School in 1969. Kathie was also a graduate of Clark State Community College. She married James Duffey of Enon in 1970, had two sons, Jason and Matthew, and lived in Springfield. Kathie was remarried to Harold Jackson of Springfield in 2005 and they lived in Springfield. Kathie worked for the Greenon Local School District as a bus aide for 15 years. Prior to that, she worked at Vernay Labs in Yellow Springs. Kathie enjoyed hot summer days, mushroom hunting and walks in Glen Helen. She also enjoyed politics, music, collecting, sports, but most of all she enjoyed and loved her family and friends. She held leadership positions in the PTO, her local OAPSE/AFSCME union, and as a scout leader. Kathie was a member of the Xenia Church of Christ. Kathie is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Trollinger, and brothers, Douglas and Terry Trollinger, all of Yellow Springs. She is survived by her husband Harold Jackson of Springfield, father Marvin Trollinger of Yellow Springs, brother and sister-in-law, David and Beverly Trollinger of Springfield, sisters-in-law June Trollinger and Kay Trollinger, both of Yellow Springs, son Jason Duffey and fiancée Kimmerlie Yeary of Cincinnati, son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Angela Duffey of Enon and grandchildren David and Andrew Duffey of Enon. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 8, at the Xenia Church of Christ, with Pastor Chuck Forsythe officiating. Interment followed at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn. Family received friends from 3?5 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, at McColaugh Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs or the Susan G. Stevens, entered into God's eternal care on Monday, January 6, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after an eight year battle with frontal lobe dementia and prostate cancer. Born on Sunday, April 25, 1954 in McSherrystown, he was a son of the late Donald Frances and Betty Diehl Stevens. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Stevens; and a brother-in-law, Gary Mainhart. A 1973 graduate of Hanover High School, John worked at SKF Industries as a machinist for 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time outside, especially camping and landscaping. In addition to his wife of 44 years, survivors include two nephews, Todd Mainhart and his wife, Lori, of Dillsburg and Eric Mainhart and his wife, Tara, of Newville; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Services will be private.
