WYSOR, HENRY (Weizer).--Montgomery, Sept. 3, 1832. Born, 1754.Enlisted in February, 1776, under Capt. Berry in Frederick. Served inEighth Virginia, Continental Line, commanded by Col. Muhlenberg andCol. Barsman. Joined it at Jamestown and marched by Halifax, N. C., toCharleston, and was there when Ft. Moultrie was attacked by theBritish fleet. Then marched to Savannah and Sunbury. At latter placewas taken sick, remaining so three months, then was furloughed andwent home. Three weeks later joined the army in New Jersey, and wasattached to Morgan's Riflemen (serving therein under Captains Long andKnox, Lt. Craig, and Ensign Lovely (Lively?). Was at the capture ofBurgoyne and the battle at Valley Forge (?), where my Major (Morris)was killed. Was also in other skirmishes. Discharged, February, 1778,at White House (White Marsh?), Pa. Drafted, 1781, under Capt. Bell,and was at the Siege of Yorktown. Furloughed about seven weeks laterand not again called upon. Was sergeant while in service. Few of hiscompany lived to return from the South. Gen. Morgan was a neighbor.Married in Frederick, about 1778.

58503 Wysor, Michael Jordan: Born Oct. 24, 1850. Son of B. F. and Harriet Jane Wysor. As a boy he shouldered the responsibility of his family and worked so that the other children, left fatherless by their father's death in the Civil War, might have an education. He was admitted in 1896 when forty-six years old. Served eleven charges in nineteen years; and was Superintendent of Holston Orphanage for seven years. Married Sept. 23, 1880, Miss Willie Edna Boynton, Opelika, Ala. They had three children. He superannuated in 1922. "He was one who learned the secret of growing old gracefully." He died Feb. 14, 1936, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eula Wysor McNutt, at Princeton, W. Va. He was buried at Pulaski, Va.

Killed scraping the windshield on his mother's car when a car slid into it and jack knifed pinning him

A Loveland boy was killed Tuesday when a car crushed him against his mother's car on U. S. Route 68, about seven miles south of Xenia. Gabriel E. Drollinger Jr., 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel E. Drollinger, 1522 Columbia Rd., Loveland, was killed when hit as he stood on the driver's side of the car, scraping the windshield. The car of Mrs. Jennie McMillan, 36, of 533 N. Wood St., Wilmington, approaching from behind, slid into the parked Drollinger car, hit it in the rear, and jackknifed around, pinning the youth, reported Xenia Post, State Highway Patrol.
Young Drollinger was pronounced dead at Greene Memorial Hospital, where he and his mother were taken by Greene County Rescue. Mrs. Drollinger was treated for minor injury.

CINCINNATI --Mass of the Resurrection will be sung Saturday at 10 a.m. at Summit Chapel for Gabriel E. (Chip) Drollinger Jr., 14, who was killed on U. S. Route 68 south of Xenia Tuesday.
The boy was cleaning the windshield of his mother's car when the auto was struck by another auto.
He was the son of Gabriel E. and Cecilia Conrey Drollinger of 1522 Columbia Rd., Loveland.
Calling hours will be this evening at Gilligan Funeral Home, Montgomery and Galbraith Rds.

She was the daughter of the late William Hill Trollinger Sr. and the late Eunice Bigelow Graves and was the wife of the late George Russell, Jr.

Survivors include, sons; George Russell III (Pattie), Michael Lee Russell, both of Burlington, Eric Randy Russell of Yanceyville, daughters; Marilyn Russell James(Larry) of Burlington, Jackie Russell Dooley of Washington, DC, Angela Russell Watkins (Michael) of Burlington, Dana Russell Enoch of the home, 19 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son Dennis Wayne Russell a grandson Master George Russell IV, and sisters Maddlean Leath and Trudy Janie Johnson.

She was a faithful member of Graves Chapel Baptist church where she served as the church mother.

She also served on the auxiliary board, the mass choir and was also the vice-president.

She loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers.

Public viewing will begin on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel.

A wake will be held in the chapel from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Graves Chapel Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m.-2 p.m.

Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 1:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.

Kathie Jackson
Kathie (Trollinger, Duffey) Jackson died Thursday, March 4, at the Greene Oaks Nursing Home in Xenia. She was 58.
Kathie, the daughter of Marvin E. Trollinger and the late Mary Lou Trollinger, was born October 12, 1951 at Community Hospital in Springfield. She was a resident of Yellow Springs and graduated from Yellow Springs High School in 1969. Kathie was also a graduate of Clark State Community College. She married James Duffey of Enon in 1970, had two sons, Jason and Matthew, and lived in Springfield. Kathie was remarried to Harold Jackson of Springfield in 2005 and they lived in Springfield. Kathie worked for the Greenon Local School District as a bus aide for 15 years. Prior to that, she worked at Vernay Labs in Yellow Springs.
Kathie enjoyed hot summer days, mushroom hunting and walks in Glen Helen. She also enjoyed politics, music, collecting, sports, but most of all she enjoyed and loved her family and friends. She held leadership positions in the PTO, her local OAPSE/AFSCME union, and as a scout leader. Kathie was a member of the Xenia Church of Christ.
Kathie is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Trollinger, and brothers, Douglas and Terry Trollinger, all of Yellow Springs. She is survived by her husband Harold Jackson of Springfield, father Marvin Trollinger of Yellow Springs, brother and sister-in-law, David and Beverly Trollinger of Springfield, sisters-in-law June Trollinger and Kay Trollinger, both of Yellow Springs, son Jason Duffey and fiancée Kimmerlie Yeary of Cincinnati, son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Angela Duffey of Enon and grandchildren David and Andrew Duffey of Enon. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 8, at the Xenia Church of Christ, with Pastor Chuck Forsythe officiating. Interment followed at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn. Family received friends from 3?5 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, at McColaugh Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Kathie?s honor.

58529 York Springs - John E. Stevens, 65, of York Springs, loving husband of Deborah A. Stevens, entered into God's eternal care on Monday, January 6, 2020 at home surrounded by his family after an eight year battle with frontal lobe dementia and prostate cancer.

Born on Sunday, April 25, 1954 in McSherrystown, he was a son of the late Donald Frances and Betty Diehl Stevens. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Stevens; and a brother-in-law, Gary Mainhart. A 1973 graduate of Hanover High School, John worked at SKF Industries as a machinist for 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time outside, especially camping and landscaping.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, survivors include two nephews, Todd Mainhart and his wife, Lori, of Dillsburg and Eric Mainhart and his wife, Tara, of Newville; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.

58537 YVONNE STROM OF POTTSTOWN Yvonne (Trollinger) Strom of Pottstown passed away on April 7, 2011, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Yvonne was born in Pottstown on May 6, 1929. She married Earl "Yogi" Strom on October 14, 1952, and together they raised their five children in their North Coventry home. Yvonne led an active life filled with many hobbies and interests, and she donated her time and considerable talents to various charitable and volunteer organizations. She was an avid golfer and won the Philadelphia Super Seniors Golf tournament at the age of 66. Yvonne played duplicated bridge and participated in the Philadelphia Country Clubs Bridge League. More recently, she enjoyed Mah Jongg and Book Club at Brookside Country Club. Yvonne was a talented artist and donated works of stained glass to the Pottstown Memorial Cancer Center and Shenkel United Church of Christ. The bust she sculpted of her late husband, Earl, was displayed in the Basketball Hall of Fame during the year of his induction. In 1991 she was honored for her charitable work on behalf of The Compassionate Friends. She volunteered countless hours to Friends of the Arts and instructed art appreciation classes in local schools as part of the Art Goes to School program. As a devoted member of Shenkel United Church of Christ, she served on many committees, taught adult and children's Sunday School classes and organized "The Great Shenkel Auction" for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. Trollinger and Dorothy (Ecker)Trollinger; her brothers, Carlos and Gary Trollinger, and her beloved husband, Earl Strom. She is survived by her daughters, Margie DeRenzis and Susan Hess; sons, Stephen, Eric and Jonathan Strom; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. A memorial service celebrating Yvonne's life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Shenkel United Church of Christ, beginning at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be sent to Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Please note "Yvonne Strom" on the memo line of your check.

Zeltha was born March 4, 1919 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Leslie Richard Clegg and Zila Buttcane. She was raised in Blackfoot. While in high school she worked for her father at Clegg Furniture Store as a bookkeeper.

Following graduation she married Melvin Cook Hooper on June 24, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had five children.

During the war they moved to Vancouver, Washington where they helped build the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Arizona. Later they moved to Boise where she lived until their divorce.

Moving to Mesa, Arizona, she met Var Rowley. They were married on April 22, 1961. He also had five children. They did a lot of traveling and visited many different countries. They worked on a service mission at the bishop's storehouse for many years. Var died in 2001 from an accident leaving her alone.

Her greatest joy in life was her five children, her stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an outstanding cook and always had something on the stove to feed anyone who came over. Her children and grandchildren all agreed she was the best (grand)mother in the world. Her love was unconditional and in return she was loved by everyone.

She lived in Mesa until her ninetieth year when she returned to Blackfoot where her daughter, Rena along with the loving staff of Gem Village Assisted Living took care of her for the remainder of her days.

Zeltha is survived by her ten children, Gerry R. Hooper of Mesa, Arizona, Sandra H (Donald) Ashby of Roy, Utah, Ronald L. (Phyllis) Hooper of Mesa, Arizona, Rena Blaser of Blackfoot, Idaho and Roger M. Rowley, Kenneth Rowley, Gordon Rowley, April Coleman, Penny Rowley and Chris Rowley all of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Lona Mae Sorensen of Blackfoot; 42 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Cook Hooper and Var Rowley; her parents, Leslie and Zila Clegg; three granddaughters, Jennifer Blaser, Megan Rowley and Jennifer Eaton; one grandson, Brian Rowley; brothers, Theron and Richard Clegg; sisters, Alta Bailey, Edna Wardle and Glenna Clegg.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial services will take place next week in Mesa, Arizona.
