6113 | As of 3 Sep 2023 and after much research - much of which is based upon many new documents that have become available (through Ancestry.com) from years passed - the following is what I, David H. Drollinger, believe to be true or probable regarding William Trollinger (born abt 1826 in South Carolina; death date uncertain at the time of this writing). Also, after doing extensive genealogical research on the Drollinger surname including its many spelling variations including the Trollinger spelling beginning in 1995, it long ago became clear that virtually ALL documents (i.e. censuses, birth/marriage/death/burial records, headstones, obituaries, death notices, etc.) are prone to contain mistakes - some being honest mistakes and some being deliberate "mistakes" - because they ALL were created by people who are ALL fallible including me. So, it is very important that everyone keep that in mind when giving consideration to the details of ANY document. With that being said, here is what I think: Because of their ages at the time of the 1850 Census, it appears that William Trollinger was presumably married to Emiline Mahulda MNU (Maiden Name Unknown to me as of this writing) and that this was the first marriage for both of them and together they had four children, those being; Amanda (born abt 1845); Albert Bomar (born Apr 1846); James (born abt 1848) and M. Trollinger (female, born abt 1848, probable twin to James). Then sometime within the next few years William and Emiline part ways and Emiline and James C. Morrison become united in some fashion and together produce at least two children together, those being Sarah Emmaline Morrison (born 1858) and Malisa Ann Morrison (born 1861) (ref the 1860 Census where they are all shown). Also in the 1860 Census, Emiline's 14 year old son, Albert Bomar Trollinger, is living with her. I believe the census taker simply made a mistake by listing Albert as a Morrison instead of a Trollinger. It is not known to me as I have not seen any evidence as to exactly what became of Emiline and when/where she died. After William and Emiline parted ways, William and Nancy Jennings (Jennings being her apparent maiden name) married and together, they produced at least eight children, those being; Jane (born abt 1856); Martha (born 1860); Hosea (born abt 1863); Elizabeth (Born abt 1864); Sarah (born abt 1867); Fannie (born abt 1871); Bomar (born 1873) and William (born 1875). Everyone needs to also keep in mind these people were living through the Civil War era in the south and being the turbulent times they were, it no doubt caused much stress upon everyone including their marriages and made record keeping of any type extra difficult. David H. Drollinger 3 Sep 2023. His son, William's death certificate lists him as "Bill Trollinger". Again confusion surrounds this William Trollinger. His exact age is hard to determine due to the different ages given in the census found. I place him as the consort of Hulda and husband of Jane to connect him in the tree. This is conjecture and speculation on my part and he may not be the William born 1826 at all. GLD Dec 2012 Note: Presumed brothers, William and Samuel Trollinger are listed herein as the possible sons of James J. Trollinger only as a guess on the part of Gordon L. Drollinger. I also believe it is a possibility. 6115 | As per her marriage record, Fannie Holt Trollinger does appear to be the daughter of Hill Trollinger and Emma MNU. Hill was married to Siancit Frances nee Huss. Fannie was living with Frances as she was commonly called in the 1910 Census where she was identified as the daughter of Frances. For whatever reason and depending upon circumstances that may never be known, Frances apparently told the census taker that Fannie was her daughter. 1900 United States Federal Census Name: Frances Trolinger Age: 58 Birth Date: May 1842 Birthplace: North Carolina Home in 1900: Graham, Alamance, North Carolina [Alamance] Race: Black Gender: Female Relation to Head of House: Head Marital Status: Widowed Father's Birthplace: North Carolina Mother's Birthplace: North Carolina Mother: number of living children: 8 Mother: How many children:13 Occupation: Farmer Household Members: Name Age Frances Trolinger 58 North Carolina (Daughter) Mexile Trolinger 18; Feb 1882 North Carolina; Single; Occupation: Washer woman (Son) Charlie Trolinger 16; Jul 1883 North Carolina; Single; Occupation: Day laborer (Son) James Trolinger 38; Nov 1861 North Carolina; Married; Occupation: Farm laborer (Granddaughter) Esther Trolinger 12; Dec1887 North Carolina (Granddaughter) Fannie Trolinger 8; Apr 1892 North Carolina 1910 United States Federal Census Name: Francis Tralingler [Siancit Frances Huss-Trollinger] Age in 1910:70 Birth Year: 1840 Birthplace: North Carolina Home in 1910: Haw River, Alamance, North Carolina Race: Mulatto Gender: Female Relation to Head of House: Head [Self (Head)] Marital Status: Widowed Father's Birthplace: North Carolina Mother's Birthplace: North Carolina Occupation: Take in washing at home Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Francis Tralingler 70 North Carolina; Mother of 13 children, 8 living (Son) Charles Tralingler 25 North Carolina; Occupation: Driver; married 1 time, 4 years present marriage (Daughter) Mirel Tralingler [Mexie Trollinger] 23 North Carolina; Occupation: Laundress at home; Single (Daughter) Julios Tralingler [Julious Trollinger] 21 North Carolina; Occupation: Farm laborer working out; Single (Daughter) Ester Tralingler 21 North Carolina; Occupation: Take in washing at home; Single (Daughter)[Granddaughter] Zilda Tralingler [Matilda Trollinger] 17 North Carolina; Occupation: Laundress at home; Single (Daughter) Fannie Tralingler [Trolinger] 15 North Carolina; Occupation: Laundress at home; Single (Note: Fannie is Fannie Holt Trollinger born 1892 died 1965, the daughter of Hill Trollinger and Emma MNU) (Daughter-in-law) Annie Tralingler [Annie Elizabeth Dicky-Trollinger, wife of Charles Trollinger] 23 North Carolina; Occupation: Laundress at home; Married 1 time, 4 years present marriage (Grandson) Chorlie Tralingler [Charlie Trollinger] 7 North Carolina (Granddaughter) Laner Tralingler 3 North Carolina (Granddaughter) Elizabeth Tralingler 2 North Carolina (Son)[Grandson] Adie Tralingler [Otis James Trollinger] 11/12 [0] North Carolina (Lodger) Effie Crafford 1 North Carolina 1950 United States Census Name Fannie H Aye Sex Female Age 49 years Birth Year (Estimated) 1901 Birthplace North Carolina Residence Place Winston-Salem, Forsyth, North Carolina, United States House Number 1015 Marital Status Married Race Negro Relationship to Head of Household Wife Father's Birthplace USA Mother's Birthplace USA Event Date 8 April 1950 Event Place Winston-Salem, Forsyth, North Carolina, United States Enumeration District 106-106 Line Number 19 Page Number 16 Fannie H Aye's Spouses and Children George H Aye Husband Name George H Aye Sex Male Age 59 years Birth Year (Estimated) 1891 Birthplace South Carolina Marital Status Married Occupation Specializes In Cancer Industry Doctor Race Negro Relationship to Head of Household Head Event Date 8 April 1950 Event Place Winston-Salem, Forsyth, North Carolina, United States Enumeration District 106-106 Line Number 18 Page Number 16 Lola B Aye Daughter | Trollinger, Fannie Holt (I13578)

6119 | As you know, Hannah and Philip Drollinger are my direct line in the Drollinger Tree. I have done extensive research on this line, especially with their son, Samuel and wife Rachel. According to my research the information sent from Geri Buss is incorrect regarding Hannah being married to the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. I will give you some information that I have researched showing why I believe Hannah was not married to Joseph Smith, Jr. First, Hannah, her son, Samuel, and his wife Rachel were baptized members of the Mormon Church, on July 8, 1831 in Fountain Green Co. Indiana. Hannah's husband, Philip, was either experiencing poor health or he had not accepted the teachings of the Mormon Church. Just eleven months later he passed away on June 1832, and was buried in Fountain Co. Indiana. According to Clarissa Jane Drollinger Moore, Samuel's daughter, their family moved to Jackson Co. Missouri in the fall of 1833. After the mob drove them out of Jackson Co they settled across the river in Clay Co. Only two months later Samuel developed typhoid fever, and on August 16, 1834 he died. Keep in mind Hannah accompanied her son and continued to live with her dau in law, Rachel, until her death. After Samuel's death the family, including Hannah, continue to live on this farm until Feb 1838. Geri Buss shows Hannah and Joseph Smith married 11 Sept 1834. Joseph Smith was living in Kirtland, Ohio where the Church headquarters was located at this time, and Hannah was living in Clay Co. MO. Governor Boggs issued an Order of Extermination , which stated, "that all Mormons must be exterminated or driven from the state". They were driven out of the state of MO and they relocated in Nauvoo, IL. This took place in the spring of 1839. This is when Hannah and Joseph Smith began living in the same community. Up to this point in time, Hannah knew of Joseph Smith but didn't get to really know him until they lived in Nauvoo. I have researched the Church records and they do not show Joseph Smith, Jr. being married to Hannah. Also, Hannah is buried in the Cook Cemetery south of Nauvoo, not in the Jefferson Co. IL Cemetery. I have tons of information regarding this family, but, I think this should suffice. Grant | Smith, Joseph (I32559)

6144 | At first glance there is some thing wrong with this record. First there is nothing to support the alleged middle name. Nothing in census records, marriage records, death records or on the grave stone. The Ruth Thompson child was born when Louisa Jane was married to another man which is highly unlikely. This looks like some family tree was found and the data copied with no attempt to verify the event with independent research. The two Ruths are one and the same person and show some sloppy research on the part of the tree owner. Carrow/Schwent Tree GLD 24 Jan 2023 | Thompson, Joseph Schrives "Joe" (I7817)
