6911 Because Hannah is listed living with her older sister, Christine Drollinger in the 1930 Census as a single woman with the surname 'Drollinger', it appears she never married as did her sister, Christine. Drollinger, Hannah Helen (I9827)

6912 Because Harriett carries the middle initial of 'E' and has a daughter named Eliza, it appear that Harriett's middle name MAY be Eliza or Elizabeth.

Harriett's birth date varies wildly from document to document. The only birth date that seems most likely is about 1839 as it is recorded in her 1870 Census. She herself was probably the one furnishing the answers to the census taker's questions. Additionally, 1839 also appears to be reasonable since her daughter, Caroline was born about 1855 which means Harriett would have been roughly 16 years old at the time.

Listed as Harriett Cook in her daughter's death certificate.

According to the 1910 Census, Harriett was the mother of six children with five still living.

6913 Because he has a son named Clyde Francis Drollinger, and his daughter has a son whose middle name is Francis, it is very likely Commodore's middle name is probably Francis.

Was an electrician in Kansas City.
Drollinger, Commodore F. (I17079)

6914 Because he himself provided his birth year as 1888 on his World War I and World War II cards and because his birth year is provided as 1888 in the 1900 Census, information that was most likely provided by his own mother, it appears that 1888 is almost certainly his true birth year and not 1887 as provided by his wife, Marie on his death certificate. Additionally, he himself provides his birth place as Thayer, Nebraska on his World War I card. Drullinger, Roy O'Dell (I11764)

6915 Because he himself would have supplied it in his WWII DRC, his birth date of 16 Sep 1920 is probably his correct birth date. Trollinger, William Ladd "Snook" Sr. (I28191)

6916 Because he is buried in the same cemetery as his presumed grandfather, Oswald is placed herein as the probable son of Louis W. Drollinger. Drollinger, Oswald J. (I29192)

6918 Because he is identified as "John Will Trollinger" on his birth record and referred to as "John Will Trollinger" in his daughter, Josephine's death record, it appears that his middle name is simply Will and not William even though he is identified as "John William Trollinger" on his WWI DRC. Hopefully someone has conclusive evidence of what his true and full birth name is.

6923 Because he signed his WWI DRC with an 'X' as his mark, it appears he was illiterate at the time.

Oliver's death certificate states he was divorced. In his WWI DRC he states his nearest relative to be J. E. Trollinger of Sharon, York County, South Carolina. It is unclear exactly who J. E. Trollinger is. This person could be his wife if he was married at the time or it could possibly be his brother, John. Until proof arises, it is unknown exactly who his wife was.

6925 Because he, himself supplied his birth date of 12 Feb 1884 on his WWI DRC it makes it most likely correct. Trollinger, Jordan (I21216)

6926 Because her birth year varies from different sources, it is difficult to know what her true birth year was.

Feb 1871 per the 1900 United States Federal Census.
Hoegeman, Elizabeth Katherine "Katie" "Lizzie" (I22909)

6927 Because her marriage date and place is consistant with that ofCaroline and Christine, I place Minna as the probable sister to them.
(David H. Drollinger 27 Apr 2011)
Drollinger, Wilhelmine "Minna" (I17139)

6928 Because her own father spelled his surname as 'Drewlinger' as did her siblings with the exception of Amos, it is assumed that that is also the spelling Amanda would have used and is why she is recorded herein at Drollingergenealogy.com with that spelling unless and until substantial evidence to the contrary arises.

6929 Because his daughter, Isla, named her son, John Alsey Trollinger with the 'Alsey' spelling, it can be assumed that 'Alsey' is the correct spelling of her father's name (Alsey Eatmon).  Eatman, Alsey (I891)

6930 Because his father's middle name is Miller no doubt in honor of his mother, it seems likely that Nathaniel's middle name is also Miller.

6934 Because his own signature on his WWII DRC is spelled with a single 'l' - Trolinger versus Trollinger - it appears he decided to use that spelling even though the Trollinger spelling was the norm in his branch of the family.

6935 Because his son, Dennis has a son named Elijah (nickname Eli), it seems probable he was named in honor of his father's father. If so, it would serve as compelling evidence that Eli's true birth name is also Elijah.

According to the Union Historical Company of 1880 (copy contained herein), Eli and Sarah Trullinger had a total of eleven children.

History of Polk County, Iowa
Des Moines: Union Historical Company, 1880.
TRULLINGER, ELI-Farmer, section 34, P. O. Mitchellville. Was born in Chillicothe, Ohio,
August 31, 1816, and resided there until 1826, when he moved to Fountain county, Indiana. In
1843, he came to Iowa and settled in Jefferson county, and three years later came to his present
location. Owns a farm of 400 acres. September 10, 1838 he was married to Sarah A. Vankirk,
daughter of Ira and Mary Vankirk of Hamilton county, Ohio. She died August 23, 1876, leaving
six children living: Dennis, Sarah J., Emma A., Lewissa S., Marinda and William J. Five are
deceased. He was one of the first settlers of the county, as well as of the township, and has been
identified with its best interests. Has held the office of township clerk, trustee and justice of the
peace, and also been identified with school organizations.

Eli Trullinger. Born on 31 Aug 1816 in US, Ohio, Pickaway. Eli died in US, Iowa, Polk, Mitchellville (at home three miles northeast) on 11 May 1905; he was 88.

Moved to Fountain Co US, Indiana in Dec 1826 at age of 10.
Migrated to Fountain Co US, Iowa via Ox Teams (400 miles), with his wife and three oldest children, his brother Daniel, Daniel's wife and one child, and younger brothers Jacob and J.J. in spring of 1843

Went to Polk Co in 1844 and broke prairie for Thomas Mitchell near Apple Grove
Moved to Polk Co in 1846 and settled at the edge of a little grove (500 acres) of native timber since know as Trullinger Grove. He is buried there.

Had the precinct voting place in his home for the first election in Polk Co 10/26/1846. Retained poll book from that election. Daisy Wood had part of this book and donated it to the Mitchellville, US, Iowa Historical Society.

Active in public office and in the running of his church

Had 24 living grand-children and 18 great-grand children at the time of his death.

Funeral Service by Rev. D.R. Ellis of Rising Sun in the Trullinger Grove Christian Church. Buried next to his wife in Franklin Cemetery. Obit by A.T. Wright Pastor

On 10 Sep 1837 when Eli was 21, he married Sarah Ann VanKirk, in US, Indiana, Fountain Co. Born abt 1824 in US, Ohio. Sarah Ann died in Aug 1876; she was 52.

6940 Because J. F. Bond is identified as a widower in the 1880 Census, it would appear that his wife Elizabeth must have died sometime between 1872 when they were married and 1880. Drollinger, Elizabeth Jane (S.) (I15451)

6941 Because J. J. is buried in the same cemetery, he/she is no doubt very closely related to Orland Trollinger. Trollinger, J. J. (I25057)

6942 Because Jacob is of an appropriate age and was born in Tiefenbronn, Gordon L. Drollinger and I agree that he is the likely son of Mathias Drollinger and Anna Maria Holzhauer. Of course this educated speculation is subject to change providing a preponderance of evidence suggests otherwise. Keep in mind that Tiefenbronn is a very small village today and had to have been even much smaller back in the mid-1700s. Perhaps as little as a few dozen people may have lived there in the mid-1700s.

6943 Because James signed his WWI DRC with his mark being "X", it is assumed he was illiterate at the time. His name is provided by the registrar as "James Henry Trollinger". Because of that and because it appears all of his children went by the 'Trollinger' versus 'Trolinger' spelling, it can be reasonably assumed that James did go by the 'Trollinger' spelling.

6944 At least one living or private individual is linked to this note - Details withheld. Trollinger, Jeanie Josephine (I30897)

6945 Because Joseph and his wife have a daughter named Teresa (Theresa), I believe that Joseph's wife's birth name is also Teresa (Theresa). Nicknames have always been popular and as a result, I believe the various forms of Teresa such as "Theresy" and "Tinsey", etc. are simply the misspellings of it by various people such as census takers and others coupled with the fact many of them were not spelling experts along with the distinct possibility that even Joseph's wife may not have been a good speller herself all leading to the various spellings of her name. Because 'Theresa' is the more common spelling of the name, that is why she is identified as such in this record. (David H. Drollinger 23 Jun 2021) Cummings, Theresa (Theresy) (Tinsey) (I937)

6946 Because Kathy Jo Peterson-Drollinger's three children's births were 1974 (Amy), 1975 (Angela) and 1976 (Roger) tightly grouped sequentially, and because Amy's marriage DOES identify her father as Roger Clay Drollinger, the argument can also be equally made that Amy is in fact a daughter of Roger. If this is not the case, one would expect that she will contact us with the correction once she becomes aware of it.

From the marriage evidence it looks like her mother was either not married to Roger at the time or gave her daughter her maiden name rather than used the infamous Roger Clay's surname.
Drollinger, Amy Jo (I34122)

6948 Because Margaret does not appear in the 1870 Census, it is assumed she either died at birth or sometime prior to 1870. Van Camp - Drollinger, Margaret (I28447)

6949 Because Martha and her parents were living in Morris, Carroll County, Missouri at the time of the 1870 Census and because she is buried in Carroll County, Missouri, it is assumed that she probably died in Morris, Carroll County, Missouri as well. Drullinger, Martha R. (I15780)

6950 Because Martha and Ruby both share the same headstone/monument and because Martha died in 1905 as did Ruby who was also born in 1905, it appears they are mother and daughter and Martha most likely died while in child birth with Ruby.

It appears Martha may have been named in honor of her mother's sister, Martha who apparently died as an infant.
