She loved to cook, especially for others. Bertha was also known to many for her cards and letters of encouragement. Bertha is survived by her son Samuel Stevens and his wife, Deborah of Evansville, Indiana, her daughter Charlotte Pairsh and her husband Keith of Equality, Illinois, a twin sister, Bert Edsil West of Evansville, Indiana, a daughter-in-law Barbara Brown and her husband Darrel. Her many grandchildren, Matthew Stevens, Nathan Stevens, Aaron Stevens, Norman Stevens, Andrae Stevens, Corey Stevens, Tim Stevens, Jake Pairsh, Josh Pairsh, Kendra Pairsh, great-grandchildren, Dylan, Olive, Gavin, Eric, Hailey, Sarah Grace, Autumn, Avery, Lawson, Ava, Jacob and two more on the way. (Josiah and Sailor) Bertha is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Richard Lawson Stevens, sons, Richard and Nathan Stevens, Parents, Bert W. and Bertha (Thurber) Druelinger and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children: Vincent Trollinger (Danice), Julie Bachechi (Pete), and Everett Trollinger (Tammy); her four grandchildren: Ryan Trollinger (Mandi), Jeffrey Trollinger (Ellen), Emily Bernal (Anthony), and Tyler Trollinger. Four great-grandchildren: Alex, Luna, Mason, and Miles; five sisters; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of The Club Culturale Italiano, Inc., and the St. Charles Borromeo Women's Auxiliary. She retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1984. Special thanks to her great-niece Alisa for guiding her healthcare; and caregivers; Nancy, Amy, and Laurel, for their endless support, patience, and compassion. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, followed by a Vigil Service given by Father Tim Martinez at 7:00p.m., at FRENCH- University. Mrs. Mays is survived by her three daughters, Judy Mays of Corinth, Debra Loper and husband Jim, of Amarillo and Melinda Coventry and husband, Neil, of Amarillo; two grandsons, Michael Loper and Jonathon Loper; four granddaughters, Candace Summach, Camille Garcia, Alicia McHenry and Katie Boatler; and three great-grandchildren.
