7226 | Betty Claire Van Ransler passed on to Eternal Life in the early hours of June 10, 2020 at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Ore. Betty was a born-again Christian, having been baptized by total immersion in 1968. Betty was the first daughter born Feb 17, 1926 to Nils H. and Ina D. Kalstrom in Ekalaka, Mont. She had four older brothers who helped make her a bit of a tomboy. She loved helping her dad outside with the farm, helping mom in the house was not her thing. A couple of years after Betty's birth, two more boys and three girls were added to the family. As Betty was growing up, her mom and dad's mode of travel was a wagon and team of horses. Their ranch was on the prairie, nine miles from the small town of Ekalaka. Many times when their parents went to town to get supplies, after they were out of sight, the older boys would round up the calves and have a rodeo. They had quite an audience as the younger children on the corral watching. This is one of Betty's favorite memories. The older children, including Betty, went to Sherwin Country School for all eight grades with only one teacher. Sometimes they had to stay overnight at the school due to the mighty blizzards of Montana. The school was only two miles from their home. Betty's first experience with care-giving was at the young age of 13 when she sat with her paternal grandmother as she passed away. Betty worked as a waitress in her younger years. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Vincent Van Ransler, who was a farmer living 23 miles from Ekalaka. Once again, she loved working in the fields. Born to this union was one daughter, Linda. Betty gave Linda a correspondence course for first grade. They then moved to Ekalaka for her schooling. Betty worked at Dahl Memorial Hospital and Vincent farmed during the farming season until ill health forced him to stop. Betty cared for him at home until one week before his death in 1964. During her marriage, she enjoyed several wonderful vacations, traveling over a good part of the U.S. After Vincent's death, Betty received her GED through correspondence courses and Carter County High School while Linda was in high school. After Linda graduated, they moved to Salinas, Calif., where other family members lived. Betty worked at Natividad and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospitals while living with and caring for her brother with MS and her aging parents. Also, during this time, she took more courses and trainings to become a Medical Records Technician. After her father passed away, she and her mother moved to Merrill, Ore. to be close to her daughter and her family. While there, she cared for her mother until her passing in 1980. Betty then worked as a dental receptionist for both Dr. Downey and Dr. Kendall while they were in Merrill, retiring in 1999. Betty loved to travel. One of the highlights was a trip to Europe to visit her nephew and his wife in England. Betty also loved to watch sports. Professional football with her brothers and sisters was a favorite. She was an avid fan of the Merrill Women's Softball Team. She supported her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in grade school as they played t-ball and baseball, often juggling trips with her daughter when there was a conflict of schedules, so that everyone had someone to watch them play. Grandma could always be counted on to attend any activity that the children were involved in throughout high school. Betty loved family gatherings, whether it be in Montana, California, or Oregon. Her hobbies included woodworking, building large pieces of furniture with perfection for her daughter and grandchildren. She also learned to paint with Bob Ross on TV. When younger, her interest was knitting and embroidery. She also enjoyed writing poetry, especially in someone's memory. One poem commemorates the Merrill Flag, which was written for the Merrill Centennial Event. It is now displayed in the Merrill Museum. Betty will always be remembered as having a deep concern for her family. Her door was always open to any family member who had a need. She stayed extremely close to family but was also very independent. Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Robustelli, grandchildren Wendi (Bryan) Baird, Tim (Sara Hovland) Croy, Carlea (Darryl) Langston, great-grandchildren, Eric, Tanner, Taylor, Morgan, Garrett, Austin, and Connor, sisters Marlene Aman, Diane (Herman) Venable and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and well-wishing friends and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, one sister, one granddaughter Misti and many other relatives and friends. For those who desire, please consider contributions made in her memory to Basin Volunteer Ambulance. PO Box 284, Merrill Ore. 97633. Betty was an EMT with the ambulance for a time in the eighties. They have responded several times to calls for help from us over the past several years. Due to dementia, it was necessary for Betty to spend the last four months of her life in Crystal Terrace Memory Care, where she received wonderful care. While there, she is remembered for being a rummy card shark and for showing concern for the other residents. A graveside service is being planned at a later date in Montana, joining her with her husband once again. We will all love and miss you , Mom, until we meet again. 7238 | Betty Jean Drollinger Albertson Gibbs, an 89-year-old resident of Ammon, Idaho, and a former longtime resident of Paul, Idaho, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, in Idaho Falls. Betty was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Marysville, Idaho, the daughter of Cecil John and Norma Delone (Harris) Drollinger. At the age of three, she moved with her family to Osgood, Idaho, where she spent the rest of her childhood years. She fondly remembers their close neighborhood friends and the fun activities they shared. She loved school. She particularly loved music, and at an early age, began singing with her sister, DeAnn, and others; she was able to enjoy this talent throughout her life. She attended Ammon High School for one year and finished her education and graduated from Idaho Falls High School after the schools were consolidated. Betty met a handsome young man from the same Osgood community, Roger Deloy Albertson, and they were married for time and all eternity on Sept. 13, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1956, after just a few years of marriage, they homesteaded a new farm in Paul, Idaho. They moved their young family to the farm north of Paul and started a lifelong love of growing sugar beets, potatoes and grain. In 1970, Roger experienced a massive heart attack and passed away following 22 wonderful years of marriage. This event left Betty to raise her sons and the responsibility of operating the farm as a single mom. After Roger's passing, Betty worked many years for the Minidoka County School District as a paraprofessional and was deeply loved by all whom she associated with. It was during this time she met Ted R. Gibbs. Ted and Betty were married in 1980 and spent 21 happy years together until his death in 2001. In 2003, Betty sold the farm to the LDS Church and moved back to Ammon where she reunited with many friends and loved ones that she had known for years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life in the auxiliaries of the Church. She was Relief Society president twice and was in the stake Relief Society as well. Wherever she was called upon to serve, she gave her all. Her most prized possession was her unwavering testimony of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. In addition to her husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Blaine; five brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her five remaining boys, Kenneth (Patricia) Albertson of Huntsville, Utah, Jerry (Angela) Albertson and Deloy (Gayle) Albertson of Burley, Rick Albertson of Idaho Falls, and Kevin (Carla) Albertson of Pocatello; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Nelda) Drollinger of Louisville and Richard (Julie) of Firth. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Ammon Idaho North Stake Center, 4363 E. 17th St., in Ammon, where friends and family may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be Bishop Brian Call. 7245 | Betty June Savoretti ~ A life well loved. Betty June Savoretti was born in Palm, PA on June 16, 1935. She lived life to its fullest until she passed in her home on July 31st, at 85 years young. A Pennsylvania Dutch girl, Betty spoke the dialect a bit around her home. She adored her two older brothers, Carl and Robert and spoke fondly of her childhood. Betty attended a one-room schoolhouse where she learned to love poetry that she would continue to recite all of her life. The Owl and the Pussycat and The Secret were two of her favorites. Betty had a knack for the arts. She graduated as the salutatorian of her class. Betty grew up in a 3-story brick house that included a family bar and restaurant downstairs, "Elmer's Place." She would later share, "I thought everyone had a bar in their living room!" After high school, Betty moved to Madeira Beach, FL with her parents, Elmer and Beulah Trollinger, where she helped at the El Mar Motel (owned and built by her father.) She met and married the love of her life, George, an Italian from Staten Island, and together they raised three children. Betty's family was the center of her world all of her life. As the second consultant in the state of Florida, Betty began selling Mary Kay Cosmetics and would continue for the next 50 years. Betty was proud of her aspiring career. She even had her photo taken with Mary Kay herself! As George's plumbing business grew, Betty knew where she was needed. She stepped away from cosmetics and joined George in running the office and staff. Their family business flourished for over 30 years. With never a regret, she loved helping George, working with the plumbers and the salesman, always worth her big, beautiful smile and great sense of humor... some would say, she knew more about Plumbing than most plumbers. In 1979, the couple built a new home and moved to Seminole. Their life was filled with love and laughter, large family holidays and entertaining friends with their New Year's parties and Fourth of July Lobster bakes. Grandchildren continued the excitement with birthday celebrations and pool parties. Sadly, Betty lost her George at age 58; she chose to not remarry. Betty was genuine, down to earth and a thoughtful listener. She was the wisest person in the room. She gave of herself and offered the benefit of the doubt to others. Betty truly saw the good in everyone and was a very forgiving soul. She gave back to her community, volunteering for the DAV with her husband, as an auxiliary member and after retiring, with My Hope Chest as a part of the "Heavy Hitters." She was a character, often coming to their office with a red nose, funny hat or mustache from the Dollar Tree, she brought joy wherever she went. Betty loved to travel. Her most favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. You would find her playing (and most of the time winning!) at the slot machines. Betty enjoyed working in the yard. She loved cats, The Wheel of Fortune and her favorite foods were pretzels, English Muffins with "cold" butter and hot McDonald's fries! Betty will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children: Mark, LuAnn and Alisa; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private service will be held in the home. Donations may be made on her behalf to the St. Petersburg Disabled American Veterans Chapter 13 and My Hope Chest. R.I.P. Betty, Mom, Nana, G-Nana and friend... your family will forever love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around your neck? Please share with folks who may have known our mother. | Trollinger, Betty June (I21494)
