Greetings from Perth, Western Australia?
Please find attached the registry of death entry for my great-great grandfather Robert Meharry. (His son William was my great grandfather.) I?m still learning the intricacies of Ancestry.com and haven?t discovered which boxes I need to tick to give you access via Ancestry, so sending it this way was the easier solution!
If you need any further info about the Aus branch of the Meharry family, please let me know. I?ve only started working on Ancestry earlier this year, and at the moment I?m concentrating more on my father?s side of the family, as my initial impetus came from the realization that I didn?t know how many siblings my grandmother had! One of my mother?s cousins produced a book on the Meharry family about 30 years ago, so that?s been my main source of info so far. That covered the Aus, NZ and some of the US families.
Robert and Elizabeth?s daughter Eliza/Elizabeth was one who was a bit of a mystery to Elsie when she did her research, so any further information about her would be interesting.
Regards
Jane
By the way, the highest mountain in Western Australia is Mt Meharry, named after my mother?s first cousin Tom Meharry.

Elsie Davey (nee Kealley); Lella Meharry?s elder daughter did all the research. (on the 1986 Meharry book). I got the job of typing it up (and I mean typing ? on a little electronic typewriter). Elsie lives in Wongan Hills, which is a mid-sized country town north east of Perth. She?s in her late eighties now, and the last time I saw her (about 18 months ago) she was getting fairly frail.

7308 Bill Trollinger grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and played tackle on Du Pont Manual High School's 1948 state championship football team. He went to Washington and Lee University on a football scholarship playing guard and linebacker from 1949 to 1953, including W&L's 1950 Southern Conference Championship team that performed in the Gator Bowl. He graduated cum laude from W&L in 1953 with a BS Degree in geology and later completed graduate studies in geomorphology, photogeology, petroleum geology and remote sensing.
After graduation Trollinger joined the U. S. Navy, completed officer training and photo interpretation schools, and then spent the next four years as a naval photo intelligence analyst supervising the geologic sections of high level intelligence reports. During this time he developed skills in "photogeology" and a systematic approach to geomorphic analysis to solve intelligence problems and to locate hidden petroleum and mineral deposits.
After serving four years as Photo Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C., Mr. Trollinger joined a consulting company in Denver in 1957, and became an associate partner in 1960. In 1962, he formed the consulting firm Trollinger Geologic Associates, Inc. (TGA), which later became an internationally known company specializing in photogeologic/geomorphic mapping for the petroleum and minerals exploration industry. TGA's maps soon became widely used as a preliminary tool to guide broad scale exploration programs, many of which resulted in significant discoveries, and TGA became one of the largest consulting companies of its type in the world. The TGA clientele grew to include over 200 major and independent exploration companies. Mr. Trollinger continued as president of TGA until 1975, when it was sold to Shenandoah Oil Corporation, then sold to Petroleum Information Corporation, now a division of IHS Corp.
Trollinger then joined Marsh Oil & Gas Company (MOG), Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a 50% owner and vice president of exploration. MOG President Philip W. Marsh was formerly a part owner and vice president of TGA. MOG was formed in 1975 to use Mr. Marsh's experience in subsurface geologic mapping in conjunction with Trollinger's experience in photogeologic mapping to explore for oil and gas in the Mid-Continent region of the United States. Trollinger and Marsh made many discoveries and gained interest in more than 75 producing properties.
Trollinger-Marsh Resources, Inc. (TMR) was formed in 1986 as a wholly owned subsidiary of MOG due to the request of a number of Mr. Trollinger's former clients to conduct broad scale photogeologic-geomorphic studies in international areas using satellite imagery and aerial photography. Mr. Trollinger negotiated and directed large consulting contracts for the mapping of more than four million square kilometers for a number of developing countries in North Africa, Asia, and the Middle East as they looked to develop their oil and gas resources. During this time the TMR team mapped the country of Jordan which led to a significant gas discovery known as the Risha Field. Trollinger had the opportunity of working with a number of Jordanian geologists and (later) with His Majesty, King Hussein.
In 1989, Mr. Trollinger and Mr. Marsh split TMR off from MOG, with Mr. Trollinger becoming sole owner of TMR and Mr. Marsh becoming sole owner of MOG.
Utilizing some of the first photographs from the NASA Gemini and Apollo programs, Trollinger's work led to the extension of several oil and gas fields in West Texas. In this regard Bill was featured in an ABC documentary "View from Space". He is the author of many articles and papers on geological exploration topics, dealing principally with applied geomorphic analysis and remote sensing from space using satellite technology. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists, and many other professional societies, the Geosat Committee and is a former member of the Space Applications Board of the National Research Council.
He served on this Board of Trustees of Swedish Medical Center in Denver from 1969 to 1984, the Board of Regents of Bethel College and Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota from 1974-76. He has been named in Who's Who in American Science and was awarded the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, "Seal Medallion" for his scientific efforts in regard to global resources and the environment. He was inducted into the duPont Manual High School Hall of Fame in 1998.
After the death of his wife of 39 years, he moved from Denver to Tyler, Texas in 1994. He manages TMR's Tyler office, with TMR's Denver Office being managed by John E. Hollberg.

7311 Billie died at 3:00 p.m., on December 1, 2018. She was born to Willis Carter and Leoma Trolinger in Oklahoma City at 3:00 p.m., on November 13, 1927, two years before the Great Depression hit. She was of German, English, and Irish descent. As a youngster in the Great Depression, Billie was raised by her parents along with her brother Bobby Jack on a farm near Tuttle. Life during the Depression was hard. She and Bobby picked cotton, pulling the bag behind them row after row. When the government began production for World War II, Willis got a job in California working in a Douglas aircraft plant. The family soon became transplanted Okies in Los Angeles. Shortly afterwards, Willis was transferred to Douglas? Oklahoma operations. Billie then attended Putnam City High school, but graduated from Midwest City.

? At the end of World War II, Billie was smitten by the looks of Chester Stacy, a soldier returning from wartime service in Europe. They were married in 1946 and shortly afterwards became the proud parents of James Stacy (JW). Hot on the heels of JW was Theodore (Teddy). After a year in rural Kentucky, Chester?s home state, Billie returned to Oklahoma City and later was granted a divorce. She resolved to become a bookkeeper as she was raising two rambunctious boys. Her mother, Leoma, and ?Grandma Bingham? helped Billie until she met an ex-sailor named Charles Foster. They married in 1953 and briefly resided in the Los Angeles area before returning to OKC. Their marriage produced two girls, Linda and Judy. Shortly after Judy?s birth, Charles and Billie parted ways. Now Billie had four kids to raise on her own. Leoma helped as did Billie?s brother, Bob, and his wife, Aunt Pat. During this time, the extended families enjoyed their greatest adventures with backyard picnics, holiday celebrations, and camping trips.

? Billie taught herself to play the accordion and organ and always enjoyed gardening and nature. She was an accomplished seamstress who made many of the clothes her children wore in grade school. She also painted and worked with pastels, preferring natural scenes.

? Determined to improve her job prospects, Billie studied to become a Certified Public Accountant while she helped manage the office of the W.A. Landers Plumbing and Mechanical Contracting Company. Upon earning her certification, she briefly worked for an accounting firm downtown. She was disappointed by the discrimination against females common in those times, which affected her promotions. Mr. Landers made an offer that enticed Billie to return to his company, which she then helped manage until she retired.

? In 1968, Billie married Bill Marr, a gregarious Irishman employed at Tinker, as was Leoma. Bill and Billie traveled to Ireland, Britain, Germany, and Italy. Billie also returned to school and earned her Masters Degree from Oklahoma City University in 1980. Then Bill passed after an extended illness.

? After Bill died, Billie decided to become even more of an adventurer and bought a series of motor homes, becoming one of the ?Rolling Oakies? club members. She also took up square dancing, which she enjoyed immensely, sewing her own costumes. As a square dancer, she met Cecil Hogue. Billie and Cecil became pals and traveled together. But then Cecil died suddenly on a camping trip in the Rockies and the music stopped.

? After Cecil died, Billie became reacquainted with Carl Gardner, who was recently widowed from Mary, his wife of many years. Carl and Mary were longtime friends of Billie. Carl had worked on constructing the original Frank Lloyd Wright Price Tower project in Bartlesville, where he met the famed architect. Co-incidentally, W.A. Landers, Billie?s employer, was the mechanical contractor for that unique building. Carl and Billie decided to unite in marriage in 2002, and moved to Eufaula to enjoy the quiet life of a fisherman until Carl passed in 2009. Billie, unable to live on her own, soon had to move back to OKC, where she lived with her daughter Judy until shortly before peacefully leaving this life after a brief hospitalization.

? Billie was a life-long Baptist, but never evangelized others or her children. After reading Raymond Moody?s book, ?Life After Life?, she became at peace with the idea of death as the beginning of a heavenly transition. She tried her best to get all of her children started on a good moral footing in life while she remembered to smell the roses along her journey.

? Billie is survived by her children: son JW Stacy (Nan), grandchildren Jerry Hou (Jenny, great grandchild Remy), Athena Nieto (Vincent, great grandchild Ozzy), and Apollo Stacy (Nicole); son Theodore Stacy (Kitty); daughter Judy Roach, grandchildren Shannon Roach, Kimberly Greenway-Colesby (Michael, great granddaughters Jayden and Natalie), Jennifer Roach, (great grandchildren Austin, Taylor, and Ainsley); Linda Mull (Audie), granddaughters Christy Krapff (Chris, great grandchildren Bryson, Conner, and Kendall), Casie Edgar (Matt); niece Debby Letham (John), and nephew Robby Carter, (Rhonda).

? Graveside services Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., Memorial Park Cemetery.

? In lieu of flowers, the family requests any remembrances be gifted to vascular dementia Alzheimer?s research.

He spent his life devoted to the Lord, leading the family in love and generosity. He was a faithful and caring husband for nearly 64 years and simply couldn't fathom life without his bride. He spent only ten days missing her before he joined her in Heaven with their Savior. He found great joy in restoring antique cars, attending car shows and being surrounded by his ever-growing family. He was the go-to, the fixer, the one we could count on. His smile and laughter brought us great joy and we will miss him greatly, but we are rejoicing for him to be reunited with his sweet wife.

A private family Graveside Service for Billy Massey will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 2PM at Sunset Memorial Park.

G. L. Gentry, a successful planter residing near Paragould, Ark., was born in 1841 in Weakley County, Tenn., being the eighth of twelve children born to the marriage of J. R. Gentry and Sarah Nance, the former a native of Tennessee and the latter of Virginia. In 1858 they located near Gainesville, Ark., in which the father died in 1884, having been a prominent resident of the county. The mother is still living, and resides at Paragould. G. L. Gentry was reared to manhood [p.138] on a farm in Tennessee, and in 1858 came to Greene County, Ark., enlisting from this county, in 1861, in Company K, Fifth Arkansas Volunteers, under Col. Cross, and went into service at Columbus, Ky. He was a member of a scouting party along the Red River, and in 1862 was honorably discharged at Bowling Green, Ky. After his return home he joined Gen. Marmaduke, and was with him for some time. In 1869 he was married to Miss Angeline McWhirter, of Tennessee, a daughter of John and Matilda (Yarber) McWhirter, who were also born in that State, coming to Arkansas at a very early day, in which State they both died. After his marriage Mr. Gentry settled near Gainesville, and in 1873 bought a partly improved farm of 200 acres, but sold it some time later and went to Paragould, where he engaged in the saw-mill business (in 1881). Three years later he embarked in grist-milling, and also operated a cotton-gin, which he sold in 1887, and returned to the farm. Sixty acres of his 100-acre farm are under cultivation, and on it he raises cotton and cereals. By his wife, who died in 1883, he became the father of the following children: Joseph W., Laurettie, Oney, Gilbert W., Albert and Willis, all of whom are at home. In 1884 Mr. Gentry married his present wife, whose maiden name was Frances Drollender, of Tennessee, a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Bond) Drollender, of Tennessee, both of whom are deceased, the latter dying in Paragould in 1887. Mr. Gentry has seen a vast change in the country since his boyhood days, as it was then in a very wild and unsettled condition. He is a member of the A. F. & A. M., and was Worshipful Master of Gainesville Lodge for a number of years, and in 1887 filled the same position in Paragould Lodge No. 368. He is a member of the Agricultural Wheel, and although a Democrat, is not very active in polities. A station on the Iron Mountain Railroad, midway between Paragould and Gainesville, is called Gentry in honor of our subject.

Abraham and Nancy (Young-Lindsey) Blue moved their family from Ohio to Indiana in 1836, settling near Clunette in Prairie Township, Kosciusko County. Peter A. Blue was born there in 1837. On February 10, 1839 they moved to a six-km square-foot log cabin near Yellow Creek Lake in Franklin Township. There were still Indians in the area at that time. They liked to borrow Abraham Blue's gun, and would bring choice parts of the kill to Abraham in exchange for the of the gun, saying "Heap good gun, brings blood." As a small child, Peter A. Blue had almost white hair. Some Indians observed his sister Betty (Elizabeth Blue Doran), dyeing clothes, and motioned for her to dip Peter's hair into the dye. When the Indians were forced to leave for a reservation they came to say "Good-by" to Abraham's family, and cried.
Samuel, Jr. and Susan (Crook) Eiler moved from Huntington County, Indiana to Franklin Township, Kosciusko County, when their daughter Esther Angelina was eleven years old. Her name is sometimes listed as "Hester," and sometimes called "Het."
Peter A. Blue and Esther Angelina Eiler were married June 28, 1860. They had twelve children Louisa Ellen (Mrs. Willard Teel); Arcie, Emma (Mrs. Hollis Bybee); Nancy Paulina "Love" (Mrs. A.L. Johnson); Eliza Isabel Blue; Wilbur Blue; Effie Nevada (Mrs. Charles Huffer, Samuel Lindsey; Bertha Pearl (Mrs. Orlando Meredith); Dessie Lurainia Blue; and Edith Ivy (Mrs. Orval Ulrey). All these children were born on the Blue farm near Sevastapol, in Franklin Township, and all grew to maturity except Eliza Isabel who died quite young, and is buried in the Mentone Cemetery.
Early in life Peter became active in the livestock industry, engaging in buying, feeding and shipping throughout his active years. His partners in business were his brother Rhesa, and Horace Tucker, for over 30 years. His ability as a livestock judge was known throughout this section of the state and at market centers. His amiable disposition and versatile nature won a host of friends, and he was known for his honesty, integrity and square dealin9; one whose word could be relied upon implicitly.
He was loved and esteemed by his neighbors, friends and associates. He loved his wife and children and was always concerned for their welfare. In later years Peter and Esther Blue moved to Mentone, and it. is said that he, when reminiscing, always recalled tenderly his old home on the banks of Yellow Creek.
On May 17, 1914 his companion of nearly 54 years was taken by the death angel. The shock was more than his advanced years and frailty could endure, his loneliness encompassing him. He died on March 31, 1915, age 77 years, five months, ten days. His brother, Rhesa, and sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret Jane, were listed as surviving siblings in Abraham and Nancy's family of seven children. Peter and Esther rest in the Palestine Cemetery.

7331 Biography of John Wesley Clark, 1910 "Lawrence Co Biographical", pg 659-660: "CLARK, John Wesley.--The farming activities of Lawrence County are increasing in volume and value with the development and improvement of this locality. The discovery of oil has greatly advanced the value of some farming properties, so that the owners of tracts of this class are to be considered fortunate. John Wesley Clark, of Section 2, Dennison Township, a successful farmer and stockman, is one of the representative men of his locality. Mr. Clark was born in Dennison Township, October 5, 1844, a son of George Washington Clark, now deceased, who was a farmer and cooper of the township.
George W. Clark was born in Kentucky, February 7, 1806, and was there reared on a farm. Losing his father in the War of 1812, he was forced to help his mother, who moved to a farm in Ohio. There she married again. As he grew up, George W. Clark learned the cooper's trade in Ohio, and engaged in its conduct quite extensively. While still living in Ohio, he married Mary Drollinger, born in North Carolina, October 26, 1804, but taken to Ohio in girlhood. Ten children were the result of this marriage, two of whom died in infancy, but four sons and four daughters attained to maturity, and of them all John W. Clark is the youngest. In 1839 George W. Clark came to Illinois, settling in Dennison Township, where he entered 160 acres from the Government, at $1.25 per acre. He and his sons cleared this property, and improved it. In the beginning they lived in a log house, but later built a frame dwelling and there he died. Early in life he was a Whig, later becoming a Republican, while in religious faith he was a Methodist. His death occurred when he was seventy-four. His wife also died at about the same age.
The education of John W. Clark was secured in the log schoolhouse of his neighborhood, and he was reared on the homestead to very hard work. As a return for his labor he inherited a portion of the homestead, and bought out the interests of the other heirs. On June 9, 1875, Mr. Clark and Martha Tinsley were married. She was born in Knox County, Ky., October 24, 1857, but in 1862 her family came to Dennison Township, where her father, William Tinsley, also a native of Kentucky, became a farmer and carpenter. In 1861 he enlisted in a Kentucky regiment for service in the Union army, and served until he was taken sick, which necessitated his honorable discharge. After his recovery and location to Illinois, he once more enlisted and served until the close of the war. While living in Kentucky he married Mary Hargus, who was born in Virginia of Irish descent. Of the five children born to the parents of Mrs. Clark, she is the youngest. Mr. Tinsley died when only forty-seven years of age, his early demise without doubt being occasioned by the hardships endured as a soldier. He was a member of the G.A.R., a Republican in politics, and in religious faith a Methodist.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Clark continued to live on their present farm. They now have 170 acres, and have a very pleasant home. Mr. Clark has made all the improvements on his property, and helped to clear a part of it while it was still owned by his father. Mr. and Mrs. Clark have had the following children: Sarah Jane (deceased); Essie, Clara, Charles, Manfred and Harley, all born on the present farm. In his political life Mr. Clark has been a Republican, and is faithful in his devotion to his party. He is a member of the Methodist Church, and is liberal in his contributions to its support. He is an excellent farmer, a good business man, and is worthy of the confidence he has inspired among his neighbors."

7333 Biography sketch on Owen Brenton Craig and wife Ada Dora (Drollinger)

Owen Brenton Craig was born April 27, 1859 south of Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana. He was born to Larkin Craig and Elizabeth (Rayborn). His mother died three months after his birth of consumption. After his mothers death he moved to his aunts. Mrs. Lidia (John) Lightle outside of Veedersburg, Fountain County, Indiana. He lived there till he was old enough to work. Then his father came and took him to White County to work for him.

He ran away from his father back to Fountain County. Owen talked very little about Larkin, but spoke often of his step mother who he evidently liked.

Owen and Ada Dora Drollinger got married June 2, 1886 at Steam Corner, Millcreek Township, Fountain County, Indiana. They lived on the main road west of Wallace near a road side spring. It was in this area Samuel Larkin Craig Sr. was born. Owen was a farm hand in early life and worked for the railroad in later life. He worked on the railroad on the secton crew and was a gandydancer. He worked on Nickel Plate and Big Four and the one that ran from Veedersburg to Mellott. Another thing Owen did as a gandydancer on the railroad was laying rails and driving spikes.

Owen gave Ada for their first Christmas a family picture album on December 25, 1886. Robert Craig of Veedersburg now has it.

Owen and Ada resided in Veedersburg on North College Street running north of the baseball diamond at the city park. They moved in the last house on the west side of the street. They moved from Wallace to Veedersburg in 1910. Owen lived with his children after Ada died.

Most people called him OB. By Charles Wesley Craig's children he was called Uncle Brent. Owen use to smoke a pipe. Robert remembers what his dad (Bill) said about Owen use to "Smoke matches" is what the kids called it. When he had a dab of tobacco left in his pipe then he'd light it to finish it off.

According to what Robert 's dad told him Owen use to sing silly songs when Bill was little. Owen could play harmonica, juice harp, and french harp.

Ada liked to quilt. She always had a smile and liked to laugh. Ada had dark brown hair.

Owen had a mustache and was about 5'6" tall until he got older. He also had dark colored hair.
