DeHaven, for many years a well-known resident of this community, died suddenly at his home in Gary on Wednesday evening, February 24th of heart disease. He was past 87 years old and was a member of one of the prominent families of Troy Township [Fountain County, Indiana]. He was a brother of Abner, Arthur, and Mann DeHaven of this city and was the fifth of a family of twelve children, born to Jacob DeHaven and Susan Osborn DeHaven, on the old homestead east of Covington. Jack DeHaven, as he was familiarly known by his many friends, was a man of genial disposition and a fine stalwart Hoosier in ever sense of the word. Although he had made his residence away from Covington for a number of years, he always called this his home and never failed to get back to cast his vote for the democratic party. He is survived by two sons, Bert and Carl, and one daughter, Mrs. Laura Smith of Gary, with whom he made his last home. His remains were brought to Covington and taken to the home of his nephew, A. M. DeHaven and the funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church officiated by the Masonic Lodge of this city, of which he had been a member for a number of years." | DeHaven, Isaac Jackson (I18749)

800 | "George Drennon" "Gordon Drollinger" Subject : RE: Drollinger Family Date : Sat, 26 Aug 2000 18:12:27 -0500 Attachment : cyrus_rowen.GED (6k) Gordon, Got the emails but no attachments. You must have one of those systems that is particular on wgat it wants to send out. LOL I'm attaching a gedcom file to this for my descendancy from Japser N Rowen son of Cyrus and Amanda (Groves) Rowen. Will be looking for the info that your trying to send. George Also Charles A. Round, 104 Neches, Bullard, TX 75757 for much data on these lines. Subj: Andrew Rowen/ Jacob Round Date: 7/4/2006 1:06:17 AM Central Standard Time From: Round1930 To: clsub@yahoo.com CC: Round1930 Ed, I have corresponded with you before. I have been researching the Jacob Round family for a number of years. One thing I am having trouble with is date and place of Andrew's birth. I know what many of the researchers show ; however, some things don't pan out ! The only census record I could find is the 1820 Butler Co. census which shows Andrew to be 45 and over !! The Andrew Round in the 1830 Dearborn Co. census is Andrew , son of Philip Round, my 3rd great grandfather who was born in PA in 1770 !! His sons were Andrew Round, b 1799 in Washington Co., Ohio, Ezra Round ( my 2nd great grandfather, b 1810 in Butler Co., Ohio, Joseph Rowan, b 1821 in Rising Sun, Ohio Co., Indiana. I have discovered that Jacob Round signed petitions to Gov. Penn at a John Shield's home ( abt 6 miles from Hannas Town, Westmoreland Co., PA ) in 1774 !! One of his daughters, Mary ( Polly) Round was born there in 1779. Jacob and Andres Round signed up for the " Symmes Purchase in 1791 !! Andrew would have been only 16 at that time !!! I feel that he was born before 1775 and not at Philadelphia ,as Jacob was in Westmoreland Co. in 1774 and 1779 !! Neither do I and Carl Dunn believe that the Jacob who married Prudence Maroe is the same Jacob that wrote the 1811 indenture in Butler Co., Ohio. I know that Philip and Catherine Round were both born before 1772, when Jacob Row or Rowand married Prudence. Jacob's wife is never mentioned anywhere in Ohio. Also, no children or grandchildren have a Prudence or Maroe/Monroe or Markoe in their name. I tend to think that Andrew must have been born before 1770 to be old enough to file for land in Butler Co. I would appreciate your thoughts on this and whatever assistance you can give me !!! Charles Round We are German decendents !!! A decendent of Philip Schrader/Shrader ,who married Elizabeth Round gave me this information. I have verified it and it is correct. It seems that our Jacob had signed another petition in 1784, as he did in 1774. I have a copy of the original . It is spelled as above with a umplat over the U.. There is also some mark above the space between the o and b. Now we know that Jacob was in Westmoreland county, PA from before 1774 to ,at least, 1784 and that Elizabeth was born in Westmoreland Co. as was Mary. William Schrader was the one sending the petition. He was the father of Philip Shrader. It is possible that he was married more than once, if he did marry Prudence Maroe/Markoe. That matter is still up in the air. !! Charles Round PS I will quote some of what is said about this petition !! " SCHRADER PETITION - TESTING A NEW NATION'S RIGHTS" "This document shows the signatures of many of the pioneer settlers of Westmoreland County,Pennsylvania. German,Scotch,Swiss,French,Dutch, and Irish men were represented. Some of the German signatures were written in the old German script. These men were friends, relatives, and associates of William Schrader who had filed this petition to the Honorable Supreme Executive Council in Pennsylvania, testing the new freedoms provided by the Articles of Confederation. These stalwart men faced peril and privation on the western frontier of the young Republic. The document is meaningful to hundreds of thousands of American families who decend from these brave men." THIS IS REAL HISTORY AND OUR REAL FOREFATHERS !!!! Chas. Round | Round, Andrew (I3410)
