According to everything I can find in my records, they were married on 23 May 1911, at St. Anthony, Fremont, Idaho, United States. Sometimes obituaries aren't the most accurate sources of information. I would take the ancestry.com source before I would the obituary source, especially if it appeared in a newspaper article concerning the funeral service of an individual. They sometimes get information confused. I know your frustration, however. In trying to document my Dad's life, I can find Census Records for 1910 and 1940 only. In 1920, he and my Mother were married in November. My Mother shows up on the 1920 census with her parents. However, I can't find my Dad anywhere. In 1930, the only record I can find in the 1930 census I know is incorrect. It shows my Dad with the wrong age 25 (my Dad was born in 1902 which would be 27), wrong wife (Mary) and no children (his Mother's name was Mary). What the 1930 census should have shown was my Dad, Cecil J or C John, age 27, my Mother, Norma, 6(age 26,and four children; i.e, Keith, age 6, Max, age 5, Colleen, age 3, and Betty, age 1. So, you see, it's like they always say--GIGO (Garbage In; Garbage Out) which may apply even to census enumerators and others. (Explanation provided by Richard John Drollinger on 12 Feb 2013.
