      Arnel E. Wright, 88, Brownton, Barbour County, died Saturday, Jan. 15,2000, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.

      He was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Brownton, son of the late John Willisand Stella Virginia Callahan Wright.

      He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as adeacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He was a member ofGalloway Senior Citizens, and Mount Vernon PTA, and retired in 1972after 42 years with Ohio Mining Co. He has lived in Brownton all hislife.

      He is survived by two sons, Ernest E. Wright, of Huntington Beach,Calif., and Duard D. Wright, of Clarksville, Tenn.; three daughters,Doris L. Wolfe, of New Freedom, Pa., Wanda J. Trollinger, of Picayune,Miss., and Barbara A. McGee, of Philippi; three sisters, AudraGregory, of Sutton, Mildred Mouser, of Jane Lew, and Elwanda Delauder,of Woodbridge, Va.; a brother, David Wright, of Niles, Ohio; 14grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

      He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Maxine Wright, onFeb. 24, 1996; a son, Clifford Dale Wright; five brothers, Floyd,George, James, Raymond and Guy; and four sisters, Allie, Gertrude,Florence and Stella.

      Service at Carnegie Funeral Home will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.18, with Pastor Wayne McCauley officiating. Burial will be inFlemington IOOF Cemetery.
