OBITUARY - GLADYS OLEVA (TRULLINGER) BONJOUR
Gladys Oleva TRULLINGER was born December 15, 1913 near Maloy, Iowa, to Irving and Pearl TRULLINGER, and passed away April 30, 1988, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, at the age of 74 years, four months and 15 days.
Gladys lived in Ringgold County all of her live with the exception of four years when she was a child and the family moved to Molalla, Oregon.
As a young woman, she became a member of the Christian Church in Delphos, Iowa, and transferred her membership to the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr, Oct. 8, 1978, of which she remained a faithful member.
On November 8, 1958, Gladys was united in marriage to Roy BONJOUR at the Assembly of God Church in Mount Ayr. Although Gladys never had children of her own, she enjoyed her step-children very much. She enjoyed domestic work and had a special talent in cooking and canning foods. She entered her exhibits in both the Ringgold and Union County fairs and was very proud of the purple and blue ribbons she received for her beautiful work.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; a sister, Zola; a brother, Harold; a nephew, Keith LUCAS; two step-daughters, Rught FRONING and Edna CHASE, and one step-son, Leo BONJOUR.
Left to mourn her departure are her brothers, John and wife Ruth of Molalla, Oregon; Paul of Tingley, Iowa; Doyle and wife Roxie, and a sister, Mona SOVEREIGN, all of Mount Ayr, Iowa; her step-children, Russell BONJOUR of St. Charles, Iowa; Ethel Ayres, Mary MASER, Orval BONJOUR, Walter BONJOUR and Laverne BONJOUR, and their spouses; several step-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held May 2, 1988, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Pastor Phil KINTON. Music was provided by Mike GREENE, Mrs. Jim JONES and Mrs. Robert FISHER.
Casketbearers were Rusty BONJOUR, Kent TRULLINGER, Gene TRULLINGER< John TRULLINGER, Roger TRULLINGER and Steve TRULLINGER. Honorary pallbeares were John COOK, Roy WARNER, Alvin TULL, Allen LONG, James POLLOCK and Howard WHITTINGTON.
Burial was in the Middle Fork Cemetery at Redding, Iowa.
