- A memorial service for Margaret E. Hoover Trullinger, a longtime registered nurse in the Portland area, will be Friday in the chapel in River View Cemetery in Southwest Portland.
Mrs. Trullinger died Tuesday of cancer. She was 76.
She was born in Springfield, Mo., on June 26, 1916, and moved to Eastern Oregon in 1920. She received her nursing diploma from The Dalles General Hospital and performed her residency there in the 1930s.
Mrs. Trullinger also was a flight attendent for United Airlines in the late 1930s, when the airline would only hire RNs for the job. She quit flying in 1940 to marry Lile W. Hoover. She married Lloyd G. Trullinger of Clackamas in 1978. Mr. Trullinger died in 1985.
Mrs. Trullinger was a nurse in the Portland area for 25 years at the Oregon Veterans Hospital, Raleigh Hills Hospital, Cedar Hills Hospital and Dammasch State Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Hoover of Yachats and Molly Hoover of Portland. Disposition will be by cremation.
